It really does depend. I spent the last 11 years working on and off in between relationships and part time jobs and running my own business. People have known that I've done it in the past, but never while I've been doing it. Apart for this time, I'm now almost 30, have recently started working again, and I am blessed with friends and family who are open minded and non-judgemental. My sister knows, my mum knows, my partner knows,  my best friend and flat mate knows, her partner knows. I don't scream it from the rooftops, but the people closest in my life know, because I've come to a point where I have learned that like-minded people are the type of people who I want closest to me in my life, so it's almost like a filter. But, again, I am blessed. With the 21st century, more and more people are open minded.

But of course, I don't know your situation, in any sense of the word, so this is just my experience. Tell people, don't tell people. Only you know what is best for you. It has taken me many years of discovery and personal journey to get to a point where I don't care anymore, but I do remembr what it was like to be terrified of people finding out, especially after an abusive situation where it was thrown in my face on a daily basis to belittle and demean me. Some people will treat you differently, that is their ignorance. But not everyone, and those who don't, I've found, are the best people to have in your life. xx

not ignorance. like, men sexualize women in general but if they know about you being a prostitute it escalates 50x. like, just like all the other people, i dont work ALL the time, so what makes u think u can invite me anytime to have sex with you

in my experience, secrecy is definitely required

when i was in a brothel, women are paranoid about their family, friends finding out even

My ex knows, obviously, but apart from a few friends that's it. My parents don't know, obviously my kids don't. I prefer it this way.
