Anybody can get benefits when they can?t work. You are allowed up to 8000 pounds in savings too.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

You can certainly get critical illness cover if you take out life insurance. It will only cover major illnesses such as cancer though.

Depends on other income, assets and national insurance contributions.

It's also not a lot.

Regards insurance very difficult for self-employed in any job.

Ladies. Sadly this is downfall of this job
I doubt very much you get any insurance working as a hooker
And if you get insurance as a adult entertainer when it c comes to making a claim
They check everything

I think they will really invasive when you make a claim

You will get full insurance providing you accurately state the nature of your job, or if they didnt ask.

I've had a mortgage for almost 3 years. My original mortgage adviser told me in order to take out the mortgage I'll need life insurance for the mortgage @ ?20/month so I did!
I've recently renewed my fixed rate insurance. Turns out I never needed that mortgage insurance!

I still have it though, ?20/month is nothing compared to what I'm... contributing towards the higher tax bracket.

That sounds like a classic case of misselling. You can claim all those premiums back, I believe. Maybe ask Citizen's Advice via their email system. It'll probably take a couple of days for them to get back to you. It won't affect your mortgage.

No that's not misselling , it is a legal requirement that you take out life insurance when you have a mortgage.

Ah, I can't remember any other product being linked to my mortgage, nor have I ever linked any loan to an insurance product. I'm also under the impression that you can't get income protection insurance when you're self-employed, whether a sex worker or not.

I don?t believe it is a legal requirement. I thinks it?s just very much advised.
I just got a mortgage and at no point was I told to get life insurance.
Maybe mortgage lenders have different requirements

Of course you can - income protection insurance is primarily designed for self employed and contractors who can't get company sick pay!

You will be paying higher premiums than employed folk, for sure. But absolutely you can take it out.

If you take income protection or critical illness cover out they will ask you what you do for a living, at least that has been my experience when I tried to get it.  If anyone has managed to get it and been 100% honest about their job, I would appreciate it if they could PM me the details.

I was thinking the same! something like a cooperative where we pay so much a month and get benefits out. I was picturing a retirement home for escorts where we can sit around talking about our glory days lolx
