Advice on a potential booking
« on: 30 June 2019, 09:44:37 pm »
Hi girls

I'll try and keep this simple...

So a guy wants me to meet in a pub he runs after hours.
We agree 9pm on a Sunday once pub closed. He somehow found me on fb beforehand which rang first alarm bell.

He said that this is new to him so to have a drink with him in pub before we do our thing.

Then he changes time to 10pm as pub still has customers. He also then asks how much for an overnight.

Then an hour before meet he says to come now and have a drink with him while customers are still in pub.

This pub is 5 minutes from where I live.

Does this all sound strange? Should i cancel?

Thanks in advance....

Update:

I said originally I was going to drive.

He has asked me to now get a taxi.

As always go with your gut. I’d have said no at the first ask of coming to a closed pub after hours.
But if youre comfortable with that then insist on only after hours (not with customers still lurking ). And ask him to confirm before whether he’s after a shorter session or an overnight (as I imagine you’d need to prep / take more things for an overnight) doesn’t sound like he knows what he wants. Which is annoying and a small red flag.
Xx

Thanks for your advice hun.

It's the fact it keeps changing...I'm just not sure I'm comfortable.

Then sack him off and enjoy the rest of your night girl!
If he was serious about booking he’d have confirmed a time etc. Wouldn’t be wasting time with asking for odd stuff like ‘get a taxi’...

Do you have a security buddy I would decline the extra cash making it clear all you want is a definite time, you provide your own transport and no drinking involved.

I don't like it-
The FB circumstances I don't really understand (I don't do social media) but you already feel a bit 'wrong' about.
He keeps changing terms that's number one screaming red flag which would alone get an instant rejection from me. I wouldn't need any other reason.

I don't like him arranging for you both being seen on his own intimate turf with his buds.
I don't like the alcohol environment and work mix. I don't accept drinkers as clients.
Domestic homes I can figure out doors locks and escape plan, in a commercial building with specialised locks security systems I'm at a disadvantage
He's a bit too close for comfort...bumping into him afterwards is a possibility. I don't like that. I've done jobs on the other side of my road, but I am highly disguised. I don't expect to be recognised afterwards.

Thanks for your post (and others who have also give their advice).

He keeps messaging me saying pub is nearly empty and says he will pay me x amount per hour I stay and so on.

Sounds like some fantasist wasting your time.  I'd be really surprised this was genuine.

At the risk of sounding like your mum, please think twice about taking this booking.

LOL. Pubs don't shut at 9pm. Pure time waster there.

Easy way to check: ask for the name of the pub and the road it's on, google it, call the number ask ask for him by name.

"Get a taxi" my fat arse.
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes
The undiscovered continent for you to undress

I canceled and he keeps sending me texts about making it up to me. Saying he will pay into my account now and things like that. Literally text after text.
