Am well fed up with Autograph. My hold ups keep falling down something chronic.

Have ordered 1 pair of Silky on Amazon and see how I get on.

I also like Silky stockings but do find them shady (although no one seems to notice and I receive a lot of compliments when I wear them), they are available in many colours such as white, cream, red, navy as well as usual nude, black, barely black. Also like the length and gripping lace top. I have both suspender stockings and hold ups but when I wear the holdups I sometimes have a reaction to the hold ups band - slight rash where the silicon band has been in contact with my skin.  However going off the above if I like them they probably won't suit anyone else. :-[

By the way Silky are stocked by several stocking websites, sometimes a colour or size is out of stock on Amazon but not on the independent websites and vice versa, sometimes the Amazon seller postage is disproportionate making the price less favourable. I also sometimes want to support the independents if I can.

I use sheertex tights and stockings. They are supposedly indestructible. Not sure if that’s totally true but they are definitely very hard-wearing! They’re quite expensive but I much prefer having a couple of pairs that I can use on rotation rather than buying, ripping and chucking cheap ones again and again..

The sizes run quite small and I wish they’d bring out a bigger range of designs and colours (particularly nude) - but overall they’ve definitely been my fave for durability :)

Yeah, deffo pricier! I paid £35 for mine but is more cost effective as I was only get 2-3 uses out of the Ann summers ones and I was always doing chaotic last-minute runs to the shopping centre before a shift  ;D

Wolford stockings are really good. They are on the pricer side, but they are the only ones I can wear over and over again, from what I’ve found so far. I also wear gloves when putting them on so I don’t break them, and remove them very gentle. Never let the men touch them as 9/10 they break them!!

I have found M & S hold ups fall down until I read recently on mumsnet if you dampen the grip area they stay on. This actually works! I can now buy them again with confidence.

Another tip I read online was to use hairspray but not tried that yet.

M & S have changed the packaging on the hold ups which are now sold as 2 pair packs.   The issue i had with them falling down, I don't have with the new packaging ones so could be they've resolved the hold ups.  I got 3 packets (6 psirs).  All been totally ok.

The denier I prefer is not the 40 or 60 denier. I see they have 15 denier at a huge price increase. From £6 to £10 or £14. Daylight robbery as it does not sell these in a two pair pack.

It is to be hoped the quality has now improved at the new much higher price! Will buy some soon.

I have just looked at the M&S website I can only find 10 denier, 2 pair pack £10.

Pour Moi stockings (Pour Moi are a different seperate brand that M&S website seems to be selling not their own brand) 15 denier 1 pair called 'Tied up' £16, Pour Moi 15 denier Dark Romance 1 pair £9.

But the M&S own brand are 2 pairs £10 which seems better value than previously.

All these are suspender stockings not hold-ups.

M&S own brand hold-ups are now 2 pairs 10 denier £12
