For some reason they seem to think escort sounds nicer and more classy. It's all the same thing. Are there girls out there who don't like calling themselves prostitutes?

Lots of them. For many people it's a slur. Those folks usually just call themselves sexworkers rather than escorts, though.

I think a lot of punters don't like to admit the prostitute word, maybe makes them feel bad? I've no problem saying I'm a prostitute but many do, I've heard of girls saying that street workers are prostitutes not indes.

I don't particularly like the word prostitute. Not sure why, I'm perfectly happy to be called whore, hooker, sex worker, working girl or escort. I prefer "whore" actually, despite is generally being used pejoratively.
