1. If someone irritates you when they first contact you, or you find something a bit odd, don't make the booking. Guaranteed they either won't turn up or, you will hate them.

Definitely. I think that just about every really unpleasant booking I've ever had could be explained away by my ignoring of the above.

Almost completely true for me! The guy who tried to steal his money back seemed normal all the way until nearly the very end. Everyone else.... annoying in some way.

Off loading - be it a friend, escort buddy or on here!
So important to talk about a shitty booking. I've found that the few times I have a not so nice time or a day full of TW's that once I've talked about it I can move on rather than it going round in my head xx

1) Don't try to be everything to everyone. Noone will ever appeal to all men so don't try to be something you're not or don't want to be nor fret when you get a walk out.

2) Get outside at least once a day. Fresh air and a bit of a walk will always perk you up. Sitting in all day not daring to leave in case you miss a booking is demoralising and you'll end up gloomy and get cabin fever!

3) Realise that call after call from idiots or a timewaster or no show is just part of the job. Don't let them make you angry or upset- swat them away like an annoying fly and move on. Dwelling on them or wasting energy on being angry is unproductive. Also fine tuning your twat radar helps avoid no shows etc.

Brilliant advice!

I'd add 'Try not to cum with a client' to the list. Which I know might be controversial. But it's gotten me into all sorts of trouble. Because I've 'let go' and now a client expect it, every time, and I feel like I've 'shown' too much of myself, if that makes any sense at all. Didn't help that the client was gorgeous!

1. Socialise at least once a week with non naked people / boyfriend lol because else not sure if it's just me, I slip into flirty & safe conversation, a give give give conversation that is my work style. Takes a few people off gaurd when i'm accidentally flirty because I cant turn it off lol.
2. If your bedroom can't be personalised, personalise the fuck out of the rest of the house. Literally it's like stepping into a different world vs my work space, helps switch off & seperate it too.
3. Learn something in the down times. I've learnt about veganism, conspiracy theories, nature, science, philosophy, conversation, how to beauty, space, construction work etc. The internet is a great place lol, Dabbling in a bit of everything is my preferred learning stimulus but you could learn a language or a trade.

I can only repeat what's already been said.

1. Have set hours and days so clients need to fit in to YOUR schedule.
2. Don't be afraid to say a plain a simple NO to things you don't do or potential clients you have a bad gut feeling about. (And never feel the need to explain or apologise for saying it)
3. Turn your phone off when not working.

Cannot second this enough, very eye opening and useful information which I've found to help no end when confronted with certain types of people.

Spend time cultivating a number of hobbies.

Watching films playing piano reading a good novel etc.  In my case anyway.

Also trying to do some yoga on the DVD at home even though I am stiff as a board lol.

Life is full of these people (cluster B / personality disorder) generally but they do try to hide it in civvie street (at least, they have some positives going on e.g. career etc) .  However, in this industry, they show what they are like (anti-social / hostility / being an idiot / pestering / indiscreet etc from day one.   ::)  If there weren't people who were decent, I would not be here.  :-[ :'(

3 things that are working for me so far

1) I don't read texts anymore-When a text comes through I close my eyes and delete. Saves me from reading some baby bareback shit. ( I don't accept bookings via text, my profile says do not text and even if I ask them to call, they never do)

2) I no longer receive actutual emails from AW. I now log in to read them and I delete emails with 0-3 feedbacks without opening and reading them. (If I lose bookings so be it but with me, guys with 3 feedback or less have been TWs. From my experience though)

3) I pretend the line is breaking by shortening words then hang up on TWs (this one is least effective as by the time they have said their bullshit you are already wound up)

You are not wrong there!!!   These idiots seem to think we believe their stupid message expecting "a midnight meet" hinting he knows where you are and where to park to see me already.  Creeps. 8)

1. Seek community, solidarity and support. Sex workers are the *best*  - be a collective, not competition. I'd lose my shit without our tight-knit community in my area, the support we offer each other, whether that's emotional support or practical, like sharing venues, is utterly invaluable. The first month or two I spent doing this without having any local SW pals was bleak.

2. Listen to your instincts. Most punters don't make you feel weird or worried on the phone so if one does, there's a reason - maybe a reason you're better off never knowing about.

3. Don't trust punters, keep your wits about you at all times, don't get complacent. And this is tiring, so spend time and money on self-care - it's worth it!

Cannot agree more.  Trust No punters - they are already lying to their wife / family / GF etc.
