so called freelance reporter

I've just had a phone call from a guy saying he's a "so called" freelance reporter said he didn't want to sell the story but wanting it for research.

Questions asked - Why do you do this job? there was another question but forgot it now.

I asked him why he wanted this info, who he was going to pass it on to and he said for research and he wasn't going to pass it on to no one.

Yeah I got this call as well, him or someone similar, claimed to be called Paul although agreed it was a fake name.... was american, sounded a genuine accent
