I didnt work when I had cold. I just didn't like the idea of passing on the germs felt the same as passing on std's but that was just how I felt.

What I have learned is that you will recover quicker by resting up and staying in bed. Since becoming self employed I have been shocked at how quickly I get better now as I am not forcing myself to work. Its a pain in the arse when you need the money tho!

Also because I sell clips on clips for sale I made a few of me blowing my nose and coughing and now they are my biggest selling clips so I still made money which is nice.

I think some clients would be pissed off if you are all snotty etc and passing a cold on to them also if you are not feeling well you probably won't give as good a service. I would have a day or so off and rest up, you don't want to end up feeling even worse because you have pushed yourself. You are not being wussy x

I would cancel hun.  As its already been said, you wont give as good a service and you will take longer to recover if you don't rest up. You have to look after yourself first.

And lets face it, kissing and sucking when you are bunged up and sneezing is going to be difficult and just a bit eewww.

Hope you recover soon.

Definitely cancel!  As others have said, you will recover much quicker if you just rest and give your body easy time to fight the cold.
I can just say, that I had a customer on Friday, who had a terrible cold, but I didn't notice until we got down to business. I was really pissed off with him, so inconsiderate! I felt disgusted throughout the booking, and did a whole lot of clock watching, couldn't help myself. I don't kiss, bus still...I literally wanted to throw up when he was licking my nipples, dribbling all over, because he had a blocked nose. Yuccckkk! After he'd finished I jumped straight into a shower and I scrubbed myself for a good 15 mins.
Definitely won't be seeing him again, and your potential customers might make the same decision not to see you again, if you welcome them with a bad cold, and you will loose in the long run.

I never work if I am feeling unwell and as others say, rest will help you recover quicker.

I wouldn't work with a cold or any illness that someone could catch from me. My clients don't pay me lots of money to catch an illness from me and I wouldn't be too happy if they came to see me with a cold or whatever else x

My procedure is this;

If I feel ok and not streaming I'm happy to work
I inform clients I have a cold, I'm ok do they want to go ahead
This gives them the choice upfront
If I am streaming and really feel terrible then I don't work and I tell everyone at confirmation time

Some clients (usually new to me) have tried to persuade me to still see them even when quite ill. Funnily enough they never get back in touch at a later date, but the answer from me is still no and I usually turn the phone off so they can't pester me.

The above is based on the fact I can often still do my sports training, and other activities with a cold so would be daft to cancel and say I'm not working if I've just done, and am capable of 60-90 minutes hard training session.

Keep everyone informed is the policy.

I have just had ten days off due to having a cold  sore throat as I don't want to pass it on also I don't like my nose dripping being blocked or not being able to breathe  when doing a client.

Plus my voice was very hoarse and you could tell I had a cold I am all excited to be back tomorrow

The only thing that keeps me from working is diarrhoea. Even I won't try to work through that. But I will work with a cold, sure. Perhaps not with the sort of cold/flu that makes me feel achy and miserable.

I spend most of the winter with a persistent cough and/or sniffles. I just carry on.

Same here. If I have a cold I tell them, and I restrict the length of the booking. but it's surprising how many guys don't seem to be bothered. Once they've decided to do the booking they don't let anything get in the way.

It depends. If the visible symptons are not that bad, i.e. no dribbly snot or constantly sneezes, then yes I would work. I can deal with aches and sore throats. But if I needed to constantly blow into a hankie and clear the nose, then I wouldn't. It doesn't feel sexy and I think the clients would mind. Occasional sneezing is fine but if it's too constant and of the snotty kind, it might turn them off. My worst fear is that they get the impression that if I have no qualms about spreading the flu, then I might be just as cavalier with STDs. So I don't work if I'm visibly sick.

I've also found out recently how effective Lemsip is. Take that and lots of Vitamin C and water. Rest well. You should feel better very soon :)

Speedy recovery!

I've actually found that having sex would often temporarily suppress cold/flu and cough symptoms due to the endorphins being released. However, when I have a fever or chills and can't get out of bed, I won't see anyone.

Honestley i'm not going to pretend i havn't. Ok not literally death bed kind of cold but yea. If i was to take time off whenever i had a hint of cold it'd be tough. If you tissue before client, tissue when they are in shower & tissue when they're not looking it should go by un noticed. I keep my heating on high to avoid them at all costs though because they are a bummer

OK I am not a doctor but I don't think you catch a cold through not having your heating on, is it not a bug that's passed around? The cold gives you a runny nose sometimes but the actual cold is something that's passed around. As I say I aint a doctor so not entirely sure about what I just said. Anyway as I said I would be pissed if a client came to see me that was ill so I wouldn't continue to work if I wasn't well either as its not fair on them, its not what they pay for x
