Would you lower your rates for the coming Holidays?
« on: 25 November 2008, 12:50:06 am »
I was just wondering, especially with a holiday this week coming...Would it make sense to lower rates? Or would it even so much make a difference at all?

I have only been doing this since last spring, months after all the major holidays so I dont know how it is around this time of year.

What holiday? Payday at end of the week but don't know about anything else. I would still say don't lower rates though. Can't think of any good reason to do it.

lol, black friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the states. Is basically the start of the big holiday shopping and on that day...all the stores have mega sales and everything is marked down lower. So people hit the stores in thousands that weekend after Thanksgiving which is this Thursday

Christmas days about the limit in UK.I was thinking about putting rates up as folks may be a bit more frivolous before reality hits home on Jan 01

No, our holiday season starts much later than yours. We don't have Thanksgiving. Remember, Thanksgiving is when you lot left our shores and found America and were thankful to have found it. It's an American thing, not a British thing. I've maybe over-simplified it a bit, but that's the jist. We have Christmas Day, Boxing Day (a bank holiday, or to you, a public holiday) the day after, and New Year's Day. The holiday season here basically starts from around Christmas to New Year's.

I keep my rates the same over the holidays. But if I do have to get a taxi back from anywhere, I raise my travelling fees in accordance with their fares. I don't know about over there, but our taxis double their fees during the holidays, making it expensive to get around. And if you don't drive, or if you're going somewhere that's not too near public transportation, then it would pose a problem otherwise.
I've had bookings over the holidays. Some clients playing away whilst the family's off visiting relatives, or some guys who just plain want no-strings nookie. I've had some guys that just want to get away from family celebrations. Last New Year's Day I saw a customer who'd left his job and went travelling, and I was his celebratory shag before he left the UK. It's a great way to see in the New Year as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a heavy drinker so I didn't have to worry about hangovers.

This year my phone is off for Christmas and Boxing Day, but it's back on from the 27th. I'm on my own for New Year's Day so it's just another day to me. If the phone rings I'll answer it.

You are right about that, How could I forget!? And with me...having to do incalls in hotels which are also go up around holidays. Miami is in the high season right now (snowbirds), so all the hotels go up 30-50 dollars. Not to necessarily say we'd go up too..but lowering wouldlt be such a great idea.

Either they have it, or they dont  :-\

Excessive family togetherness may inspire extra bookings!   ;D

This is certainly true - I never, ever get ready and sit about when I don't already have a booking, but the few days after Christmas/Boxing Day I will be up with the lark, hooker knickers on and phone in hand! I have already had clients ask when I am working and mention that they are hoping to be able to slip away for a bit (I do envisage that most of these bookings will be short; half hour or one hour ones) so I am going to do my best and take advantage, as the few weeks after will probably be pretty quiet until the monthly ones get paid again!

I hear that! The amount of bookings I got over the holidays over the years from guys just wanting to get away from family. And with other escorts not working because they have their own family affairs to take care of, trade can be good. If you're available and you don't have such commitments, then why not? The weeks after Christmas/New Year can be quiet, so make hay while the sun shines.
