No, our holiday season starts much later than yours. We don't have Thanksgiving. Remember, Thanksgiving is when you lot left our shores and found America and were thankful to have found it. It's an American thing, not a British thing. I've maybe over-simplified it a bit, but that's the jist. We have Christmas Day, Boxing Day (a bank holiday, or to you, a public holiday) the day after, and New Year's Day. The holiday season here basically starts from around Christmas to New Year's.
I keep my rates the same over the holidays. But if I do have to get a taxi back from anywhere, I raise my travelling fees in accordance with their fares. I don't know about over there, but our taxis double their fees during the holidays, making it expensive to get around. And if you don't drive, or if you're going somewhere that's not too near public transportation, then it would pose a problem otherwise.
I've had bookings over the holidays. Some clients playing away whilst the family's off visiting relatives, or some guys who just plain want no-strings nookie. I've had some guys that just want to get away from family celebrations. Last New Year's Day I saw a customer who'd left his job and went travelling, and I was his celebratory shag before he left the UK. It's a great way to see in the New Year as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a heavy drinker so I didn't have to worry about hangovers.
This year my phone is off for Christmas and Boxing Day, but it's back on from the 27th. I'm on my own for New Year's Day so it's just another day to me. If the phone rings I'll answer it.
