Shit... so thats where all the men folk go to get away, i never realised.  I feel sorry for the women.  Dont get me wrong, i love xmas usually but i get to about 6pm on christmas day and ive had enough... its all very well the men ducking out for a quick shag but the poor women have to stick around pouring sherry for pissed old biddys, dodging kids on new skates and the remote control trucks and the toddlers screaming.  If i get loads of bookings just after xmas im going to recommend they get their wives and girlfriends a voucher for a pedicure or massage to make up for it haha.

so if I wanted to visit family would the general consensus be to go for the new year rather than Christmas?

I would say nearer to New Year. By then everybody's fed-up with looking and talking to each other.

Brandy, do you mean visit my family New Year and work Christmas or the other way round

Sorry, I think I'm being thick here, but it may also be down to the ambigious nature of my question.

The other way around. Spend Christmas with the family and work the rest of the holidays. That's what I'm planning on doing.

I'm lowering my rates for advance bookings - this is because I want to be able to plan time with family etc so effectively I'm attempting to encourage guys to book in advance. I may even put my rates up once we get to the 20th for the last 10 days of the year. Then I'm thinking about taking the first week in January off to go skiing, before things get busy again.

Thanks Brandy, re-reading the post with a slightly clearer mind, it did make sense.

That ties in with my original plan as I prefer to spend Christmas with the family rather than New Year.

I've actually now decided to NOT lower my rates over Christmas, my time is just as valuable as ever and I'm providing the same service - so upon consideration they are staying the same!
