Not putting oil in to a car engine is about the worse thing you can do to it, so I hope it's not that.

I think if you're Scottish and you're renting your own place and working alone, you're unlikely to be bothered. I mean, there are Glasgwegians who post on here who never seem to be bothered.

I also know a couple of girls who share while touring and they've never been bothered.

I simply won't risk it because of my immigration status and my intention to become a citizen at some point in the near future. Being a non-UK citizen may make me more vulnerable, or at least appear more suspect. I do have the right to live here and work here but I can imagine the police not knowing that and deciding to have a wee nosy. And if they come to my door they may assert some sort of power that I as a non-citizen can't refute. I would likely have to show my passport to prove my status and then there's a record associated with my name and passport. That's why I am more paranoid.

I hope that Laura Lee's optimism is correct.

Well yeah me too Fabulassie.  Otherwise its not a good place to be.

Totally understand and agree with your reasoning, of course not worth it for you.  I'm not Scottish, I'm English, but I hope they won't hold that against me too much!  ;D

Foxy lady, when it comes to cars and the way they work I'm a blond too(not) and not putting oil in your car can cause engine to cease and have to be replaced ~ not a cheap job, so I hope it's not that. It happened to me years ago when I knew even less about car  :'(. Good luck with the garage.

I hope your new flat goes well for you.  Just do what I did and kept myself to myself and you should be ok.

Good luck x

Foxy, if you are working on your ow, have no involvement with any form of criminality they will leave you alone.  I have a client who is a police officer with Strachclyde police and he himself had said they are fully aware of where girls are working but as long as there are no dodgy dealings going on they will not bother them.  Last year I shared a flat with 2 other ladies and at times there were two of us on the premises we worked perfectly fine for a whole year without any police attention.

I think you'll find that policy is liable to change according to who is in overall charge. And it only takes a politician to get involved to cause them to do things that they normally wouldn't bother doing.

oh dear!

re. the car???..walked to sort the oil out yesterday - still wouldn't start, got a client to come and jumpstart me, still wouldn't start, my lovely 23 year old lodger came and they both said it might be a something simple like??(forgot the name of it) as it sounded like it was trying to start.

yes, also met another lady dog walking yesterday morning who did the same thing and knackered the engine???.which would be a pain???trying to get ahead a bit, and there's always something else comes along!

re. the bus???.the only time I have ever got the bus recently I decided to go to Glasgow by coach and was getting the local bus into Dundee, not long after I'd started, and a guy in his 30's kept looking round and staring it me repeatedly, i ignored him of course, but it was clear he had seen my ad.  Sod's law isn't it.

Today, I am not dressing up for anyone.  The good news is my client has already called this morning and asked me if I would like a glass of wine when I get there, and he's a cool guy so may as well enjoy it!  ;D

Hey!
I've been living in the same flat for almost a year and a half and working in it.
My best friend is living with me. She is working as an escort, too and she rented another flat like 2 mins walking from mine but she still sleeps at my place every night. We never had any kind of trouble even though for a short perios of time we used to work from the same incall place but different times. Now we work separately and meet each other in the evening. I don't think the police care about working girls that are only working girls. They care more about women being trafficked or pimped and stuff like that.
In my neighbourhood I thing there are like 5 eastern european brothels and they are still working. Like 4-5 girls in a house. They have been working there for the past year and I guess the police doesn't care. They care about other more serious things like drugs and stuff like that.
Hope that helps you.
X

offtopic I know???.but yes girls???..I knackered the engine, my mechanic said it's a write off.   :FF

still considering I am getting a flat saturday, will stick to in calls only and save money by using buses instead of all the car costs and see how it goes.
