What does working in a sauna entail? Curious

As nora batty has explained, you'll have a receptionist who takes bookings, deals with clients (letting them into the flat usually) etc. Most brothels I have worked in have an all inclusive fee re: services (so you often don't earn extras if you offer a specialised service), however this isn't the case with them all. You will pay a basic fee per client to the house and maid.

Working in brothels has its pros and cons - but can be great if you don't want to deal with the clients over the phone yourself. Although, in my experience you have to be very high volume to make a decent amount of money (e.g. I have often had to see 10 or 11 30min clients before I can make £400 after I have paid house fees).

I've worked in a brothel and a sauna in England and they were both slightly different in the way they operated.
In the brothel the girls sat in our own room (basically a living room) and waited for clients. When someone came to the door the maid would take them into one of the working rooms and we would all go in there one by one to introduce ourselves. The maid would then go back in and ask him who he picked. We would then go in and ask what service he wanted, take the cash, hand over our share to the maid which was usually 50% and go back in to do the service. Any extras were negotiated at the time and we also had to give 50% of that.
In the sauna the guys paid an entrance fee and came into the room where we all sat. I didn't like that because it's nicdr to have a space away from the clients. He'd look around and choose someone and we would pay 50% from the first booking and £10 per client afterwrads. I made much more in the sauna than the brothel but I preferred the ambience of the brothel. This was a good few years ago so it may have changed since then and I guess not all of them operate in the same way.

Edited to add, in the sauna we had to do all the cleaning at the end of the shift! In the brothel we had a cleaner.

That sounds really nice. I do miss the social side as well. I've heard that some places can be bitchy and competitive but I think I was very lucky because we all got along and the time whizzed by. There was always someone to talk to if you had a horrible client or wanted to let off steam. It's true that we weren't encouraged to oick and choose who we saw but I never felt unsafe as the girls were next door.
