I was getting my nails done today, and my beautician was telling me that September was dead for her  too in her salon, so it may be a wider problem than we thought
Well if you think about it, September is a rather busy month. People are just back from summer holidays, kids are returning to school, school fees, books, and clothing have to be purchased. It is also the beginning of fall, focus starts to shift to Christmas. And the blasted retail shops don't help with the setting up of Christmas decorations earlier and earlier every year. Then of course you have the part time hos who pop out the wood work to make a bit of cash before Christmas to buy presents for their children. Is it any wonder it is quiet?

I thought id be busy this weekend as it was pay day for a lot yesterday but I was wrong. This is the quietest weekend I have had since I started - it's also the first time I have really needed the money  :(

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat. The last I was quiet (but not this quiet) it was mainly due to a football game... I don't think its that this weekend - just not my weekend I think. Hope yours picks up Sadie!

I've had a quiet week, but given I've had a bicycle accident last week and cracked a rib its probably for the best.

There has been live football on the tv all weekend and games on in england and scotland both saturday and sunday.  In Scotland when its football season you are as well writing the days off.

I haven't noticed any real difference football or otherwise, still pretty much on a normal level.

It's strange how this business works...nowadays.

I don't get much bookings here at home, and even touring this year has just been so up in the air. I tend to cancel tours twice before actually going now simply because sometimes it just doesn't look so good to go. This week already had a cancellation for a 2 hr appt in which I cancelled. Now I'm getting all requests for massage, and that's simply not enough money to go across states for.

However last week, I had someone book me for an evening dinner 1 day prior to a client flying me out for a 2 night appt. I ended up missing my flight because I didn't have time to pack that evening as I was with client LOL. Eventually I got on the next flight and met other client. But I'm like, why is it that people have to book a LONG appointment right before an overnight?

Happened twice already this year.

my choice to go where? On the trip? The client pre-paid for that. You mean the appointment the night before? There was $500 on the table I was going to leave that behind.

I've never known it so dead as the past few weeks; currently on tour and its like a freaking graveyard.  My one prebooking at my current tourstop cancalled, it wouldn't surprise me if I made a heavy loss here.

To add insult to injury I hadn't realised there was no lift and had to lug my considerable amount of luggage up 3 flights of stairs, the bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on, and built for someone certainly under 5.7.  So hardly any sleep and aching all over today.

Oh yes and today my dongle decided to stop working so can only access all those naughty sites on my phone.

 :( :'( :FF

Plus side?  Oh yeh sublime chocholate brownie from the coffee shop next door

Its now coming up to the time when all the 'mummy's who need to pay for little johnny's christmas' come out as they have no other way of affording their childrens christmas presents.  Doesnt help the regular girls at all.  :(
