I follow Bloomberg news, the Wall Street journal and Goldman Sachs and they keep talking about the UK going into recession (mental note to myself: stop reading the news). On the other hand it always tends to go silent in thanksgiving (my personal experience).
Yeah, that's what I thought. Speculation about what might possibly happen but hasn't (and from sources not even in the same country) is not fact, and it's spectacularly unhelpful to post as if it is.
The UK is not in recession, 'actual' or otherwise. It's a narrow term with a very specific meaning, the last time it almost happened (but didn't) was about a year ago, and the Bank of England are the people to ask.
I'm ticking over fine here (City of London near Bank) but I find it very all-or-nothing so I'm either doing four-five bookings a day or one (or none). I'm happy enough with that, but I wish I had a crystal ball so I knew which would be which.
