I spoke to a few of my city clients ( London boys) and they’re slowly trickling back into work for 2/3 days a week. So fingers crossed the second half of the year is a successful for us all ;D

Same boat here. I've been asking around about clients going on holidays and the consensus was that nobody was planning on travelling -yet-, so if we don;t go into another lockdown and that indian variant doesn't get out of hand business wise it might even be a decent summer.

Crosses fingers.

My weekend was a bit busier. Must have been the better weather. Hopefully that will continue.

May has been a great month for me until the last week. Don't know whether it's anything to do with the bank holiday weekend.
Timewasters and idiots on the rise again too.

Half term holidays can really mess up how busy your be. I try and avoid working them as it's a gamble especially if you pay for hotel or apartments.

It's been busy here for the last couple of weeks - I can't remember the exact day it flipped, but there are lots more people about all of a sudden and I'm catching up with punters daily who haven't been into town for almost a year and a half. Even the Bank Holiday Monday was steady, which was good because I skived Tuesday to go for a picnic :D

Half term is usually when I tend to get a familiar handful of teachers from a few local schools.
Thankfully my incall is not near my house so I have less chance of any of them beng teachers from the schools my kids go to.

I’ve done both the city of London and Oxford Circus this week and both were awfully bad. So much so that I won’t be returning to London until winter now. For me I can earn this pittance locally to where I live. I’m really disappointed I thought after half term week they would all be dying for a shag. Monday’s in the city are normally so good.

Both areas are going to be very hit and miss for quite some time yet. City of London is only at around 20% occupancy at the moment, many offices are doing staggered returns and most won't even begin this until the Autumn. While there are definitely people in the street, in both areas, if you look closely, shops and offices are not busy. I know a few shop owners in both areas, bar/restaurant owners too and a few traders at Spitalfields. Business has been very slow to pick up. I think both areas are going to be slow until next year, and due to the added consequences of Brexit and many offices relocating to Europe, it is going to be a quite few years at least until the city returns to pre-pandemic levels of people.

That said, I do think once more have the second jab, it will start to look livelier.

It's the week after half term now here in London, albeit only first thing on Tuesday morning :) - when you say this week, when are you talking about? I know different cities have different holidays and I fell foul of it a few times when I was working all over the place :)

I don't expect the number of people working in the Square Mile to be the same as it was this time two years ago, but in my corner of it there has been a marked difference these last couple of weeks as per my post above, and whilst I'm not high volume and I know touring is different, the notion that the place is deserted and punter-free isn't my current experience at all. Then again, I often find Mondays not worth the bother and generally stick to regulars, so everybody's different :).

Monday’s have always been my busiest day in London it’s interesting how diff ladies do well on diff days. Yes I did Thursday Friday city and Monday Oxford Circus and was awful for me. Currently headed in my car to Bristol where my phone is blowing. I’m happy that I made the move. Nothing worse than being sat in an apartment for nothing.

It's partly self-sabotage with me; I always hated the first day back after the weekend in civvy iobs and it still takes me a day to settle back into things. I try and shove as many returnees and regulars in as possible so I can hopefully go a whole day without answering the phone; midweek are my best days (on Friday I'm thinking about it being the weekend) ;D.

I take it everybody knows that Euro 2020 2021 starts on Friday? :D
