If you don’t mind me asking- dead as in zero clients a day? Or 2/3? I’m pretty low volume so could probably cope with only a few per week but will need to re-evaluate if it’s zero...

It's not zero by any means... just a third of what used to be pre-lockdown (at least for me), but then 1) I have high rates and b) I offer a very niche service so someone with a different business model, lower prices or less niche might have a more positive experience than me. There's a lot of key workers/construction types in the area and little competition so if you have low prices and they're your target group you might do just fine, but the business/financial/techie crowd are all working from home till september/October and their offices are closed so don;t count on them :-)

Again: this is MY own experience.

Oh I see! Thanks for the information, much appreciated x

Currently touring Swindon and getting nothing but time wasters. I am featured for Bristol getting more calls for there so considering a move shortly. Have to take deposits for all new clients now due to this time wasting.

I've seen a few new clients since I started again and some regs, but am still convinced it will be quieter now until the end of the year.

Told my accountant I shall be hanging on to my summer tax till January and until then I am not going to be spending any unnecessary money  :)

I will still allow myself a few treats but I ain't gonna go mad.

Not had one job this week or last

Four things to consider:

1) Were in July (from personal experience this is the slowest month of the year. Has always been)
2) We're in the last week of the month (end of the month is always slow in general).
3) We're coming out of the biggest pandemic since 1918.People are scared. The media has been/and keeps feeding everyone with fear.
4) There'a travelling quarantine out there and half of the countries can't travel to the UK.

I'm actually surprised some of us are getting bookings AT ALL these two weeks.

I disagree. We're in July, kids out of school, holidays etc.. Things will get busier from now to September as people slowly return to work, kids to school, social distancing eases and travelling quarantines get lifted. We just need to be patient.

There is no returning to school over summer holiday so bound to be quiet.  Always is quiet over school holidays to start with.

I’ve been pretty busy since I started back working in June, I was only working one day a week and was earning well, this week I worked Tuesday and only had a couple of clients and today absolutely nothing. I normally have a couple of clients booked in before I get to my work apartment but no bookings and only a couple of “what time you working till” type phone calls. Hope it picks up, but suppose it will teach me how easy it can change, got to use to it being busy you think it will stay that way

Started back last weekend

Planning to keep my civvie job for the minute and work fri, sat, sun until there’s a bit more stability

Last weekend was slow but still had 3 bookings at my normal price if £150ph

Decided to lower my rates this weekend and there’s  been a marked improvement on bookings

Just trying to work out if it’s due to lower prices or payday effect

It's dead for me in Hampshire if we're ignoring the large amount of chancers, time waster and scrotes. I literally had 4 hours booked who all flaked and ended up just having one half hour. All week, dismal

Yep I second that.  I've lowered my rates and its been much better.  More bookings than normal.  People out there have lost jobs and we are in a huge recession.

I have been very busy since returning
Haven’t reduced or changed any of my services
I’ve toured 4 times since June and each time it’s been very busy
Only thing I did notice is that I have had a huge amount of guys that I saw a long time ago coming back to visit which I found a bit weird but nice

When you tour are you using Apartments or Hotels?
