This has been my best week for a very long time and I have another booking tonight. Tomorrow I shall go and treat myself to something nice although I really do not need a thing. Might do a trip round Ikea  ;D ;D

I class it as a "freak week" because they are few and far between but am quite happy with my earnings these days.

I was talking to a friend earlier and it seems we both have different ideas of slow. I have been quite lucky the past couple of years and came to think of it as a slow day/week if I wasn't turning clients away because I was fully booked and because its not been like that the past 6 weeks I have been moaning that its really slow but I have just gone through my diary and surprised myself at how many bookings/booking requests I have actually had and I really should stop the fecking moaning because its down to greed. Life could be a lot worse, I could be working 9 to 5, minimum wage for a boss I couldn't stand.
So my question is - what do you actually class as slow? and if you thought about it is it really as slow as you think

It’s different for everyone.  It depends partly if you are high or low volume.

For me, due to health reasons I have no choice but to be low volume.  I client a day is fine for me or max of 2 is fine for me.

I class a couple a week as slow, but others would class that per day as such...

My pricing is at the upper end for my area for short bookings and relatively cheap for longer bookings therefore, I get smaller numbers of longer bookings across the week, so numbers of clients don’t need to be high. There is volume, then there is overall profit compared to costs etc

This week was dead as a dodo for me but the weekend has picked up massively so I’m happy. As a result of the above strategy I’ve come to expect this now though, really not being able to predict my schedule. When I focused more on shorter bookings then the general pattern of things was easier to ascertain .

Just another angle to all this, I remember my first day of not a single booking and that was around 5 years ago when I had already been working for 5 years and  I thought the world had ended. Stupid of course and I had to get over myself.

I was not exactly high but much higher volume then than I am now and had huge overheads before seeing any profit. Now I am the opposite and can work far less and make more profit as my overheads are minimal. So much happier and if I get a day with no clients I don't care one bit.

A relaxed and smiling prossie is surely a lot better than an anxious and greedy one.

Wow, so may time wasters around. I’ve had more heavy breathers panting down the phone and a guy asking if he can have a pot noddle that he brings with him when he comes over(I agreed) then he went on to ask if he can bring his pet weasel because it’s been tearing up up his house and he has it in his car.. ? I don’t get it. How is the even funny. What the hell is wrong with some people??!!  ???

That’s a bit odd lol. It’s so annoying I don’t know why I’ve had so many today. They all seemed serious too. I don’t know if I should start double booking but I’d feel bad if two turned up at once.

Yes I know what you mean, I would feel bad if 2 turned up at once.. you might pull it off though? By texting to ask them to give you a while longer as your running late? I’ve actually done it before and despite  feeling bad about it it actually worked out.. also perhaps you can just over lap rather than book 2 at exactly the same time. It’s always the way.. so quite and then 2 at once xx

Slow again for me and still getting tws. Had one adult work cancel but did give me four hours notice. Would you give positive or neutral feedback for this? He booked yesterday evening cancelled because of work.

Why give any feedback. Maybe leave it as it didn't go ahead with booking but gave enough notice to you.
