I spent yesterday in Leicester (was due to include today as well but I came home despite pre-paying for the room) and I'm not sure what to think. On the one hand, it's still the Summer of Hell in full swing and my 4th tour in a row to fall flat - hence me throwing the towel in and coming home early. But on the other, and unlike my recent tours, I got a ton of enquiries - over 20 texts and 20 calls in the one day from 12pm-1am - and though they were all timewasters I wonder if it hints that the market is alive and well (or just full of timewasters).
Of course it could be a cost issue. I have increased my rates to the average in my line of work even though other newbies haven't and maybe that's putting people off - maybe because places like Leicester aren't affluent enough (I don't know, just musing) or maybe the other girls at this price range get reduced business as a result so maybe there's value in dropping my prices? The downside with reducing my prices is the impression it gives those who clock the decrease.
