So quiet in Herts, I've moved to Essex and managed to pick up one booking (woopee) and 2 for tomorrow morning but I have no clue as to what is going on this week.

Hopefully when all the kids are back at school and uni it will pick up cos being a parent with my kid starting uni next week it's bloodily expensive so I can see why there is no cash around for anything else .

My son is going to uni too and it costing me a small fortune next week.

I'm shocked too. Herts is my 'go to' destination. Defo something not quite right.

I don't normally like to complain but it's shyte. I'm always busy but this week has just been ridiculous. Not sure what's in the air but I hope it's over soon.

Maybe I am being thick but how does university termtimes affect our business??  Surely they don't need to be babysat at their age!

No they do not need to be babysat but the parents have to equip a kitchen (pans, cutlery, crockery) build up a supply of essentials for them (towels, tea towels, separate bedding including duvets and mattress toppers) buy the books they need for starting, pay the initial rent and bond on the accommodation, pay the first months travel, give them money until student finance sort themselves out and get them to the university of their choice. I do not think I had much change out of ?4,000 for setting each of my kids up when they first went to uni. It certainly is not cheap and most people do not realise quite how much it costs to get their teenager to uni and into their accommodation
