Well yesterday was dead (I am running out of housework I can do!) but I already have three bookings for today which is about all i like to do in one day. I hope it stays like this Wednesdays are normally dead for me but I think i might start talking to the plants if it is quiet again this week!

This is why I occasionally triple book when feeling the odds are stacked up against me. :) I double book mostly though and so far only a few showed at different times.I double booked yesterday and a good job top as felt he was a no show with all the texts after booking.  I wouldn't risk it if they all booked for the same time.

Luckily the triple bookees haven't clashed as of yet but in Belfast all this double booking up becomes the norm. This is what I am finding recently.

I used to get anxious over but business is business. And we can loose out financly with a no show after declining a booking for. I learned my lesson not to have them be rude to me.

A few clients are very well though a bit like doing a lot of sifting to find the good ones. It is very profiting here though one lady I recommended here and helped with advice. She is very happy, I knew she would like it here. :)

I don't feel risky to quadruple book yet lol. But Belfast is the place if so hence many no shows. It is a lovely city to browse through except some clients who are not punctual.

One thing I always remember clients saying to me is that my telephone manner even if they did not book me was what made them reconsider me for a later date.  Telephone manner is always important in attracting new clients just as much as it is for us, well was for me.

I totally agree.
It's odd how some of them don't get it...

Today started okay....well phones were ringing and i had two lined up practically one after the other.
I really thought i looked great as well.
Anyhow the first bloke turned up and did the whole 'forgot his wallet in the car' routine.
I thankfully haven't had a walkout in some time so was taken aback but determined not to let it ruin my day.
Another one was due shortly after and to my horror he did exactly the same thing. The only thing that stood out was his rehearsed routine pulling a horrified face with the realisation that he 'left his wallet in the car' ... at this point i just wanted to die.
I thought what the hell was wrong with me.
He later text and apologised.
Was on a roll lately and got my confidence back. Have two bookings lined up this afternoon and am scared they will do a runner also :(

Even if they do not want to see you that day.  I have had clients tell me how if they do not make an appointment there and then the girls will tell them to Fluff off and that is a big no no.  Any phone call is a potential client at any time might not be that day.

Those guys, the ones who call and inquire and sound ok are for me potential clients, so as long as their manners are ok I see no reason to bark at them. It's marketing really and yes, some of them call to book when they are in the same town as me or when they can.

By "how they don't get it" I meant how some men clearly don't get the idea of telephone manners when calling us. After all when you walk into a restaurant you don't go traight up to a table, grab a chair and bark your order.
Or maybe some do...?

Why do they all want to come at the same time?! I saw two clients over the lunch time period but had 5 more wanting that exact same time then absolutely nothing since  :FF

This.

If you're pleasant and respectful to me, I'll be the same right back. If you bark at me, I'm busy and you're blocked.

During my short stint as a waitress, I've experienced plenty people who do just that. Fair share of folks just do not view people in customer service as actual thinking entities, methinks, and that includes our line of work.

Lol. I so agree. I've worked as PA and in sales etc. The reason I screen by phone is because I can quickly tell a lot by the way they address me. It's true that some phone calls just leave me speechless. I will never understand how they can expect us to see them for an hour if they can't even treat us correctly 2 min over the phone???

How sad, but they do exist.  Luckily, I try to avoid socially awkward or steamrolling  type. E.g. Lack of manners, mutual respect, verbally insensitive etc.
