People are either taking time off, gone away or looking after children/grandchildren.

Past 3 days dead for me only 1 hour booking two others wanted but at times I could not do.

Not even mobile phone timewasters!

It just dawned on me that there must be guys that would love to book us all this week but they can't take the time off from a short staffed office etc.  With others being off I mean.

Hopefully a little better Monday .....!

I've had a really good week - my best ever, but today the phone has been deathly silent.  Suits me though as this week has exhausted me. I'm not used to high volume.

Big hugs to all of you who've had a slow week. Here's to april being a good 'un for all of us.

I'm feeling ridiculously sorry for myself at the moment. Left my agency at the start of March and thought I'd be okay going it alone, how wrong I was. I've been stupidly dead all month, where I'm no where near covering the overheads of the hotels I've booked. Took a week off, set up Vivastreet and backpage to go alongside AW and back in today, still not one job. At this rate I'm going to have to go back to agency work and I seriously don't want to but I was in the minus last month and can't afford to keep this up. I don't know what's happened, I seen private clients alongside agency work but now I'm getting absolutely nothing?  ???

Honestly I do think it's just the time of year.
Look at me I have the parents staying for a long weekend.
Parents said the journey was very very busy.
Came from Cornwall to reading.
Stop start the whole way.
Lots of people going away taking time off work to go on a mini break etc.
Also the end of financial year.
Things should (will) pick up.
My sixth year doing this. Really nothing to worry about. It will pick up.
Kids being off school will affect s lot of people, childcare, spending money on the kids, time off work, understaffed, just paid tax bill etc etc.
I'm not worried, I'm just enjoying the break :)
Although phone calls today and I don't even have my number active on aw. Typical!!

I'm going to look at last years diary when I get home tomorrow but I'm sure I was busy this time last year. It's not helping that every girl in the NE seems to be fully booked. Have a potential booking in the morning which will cover the hotel today and think I'm going to join an outcall only agency so at least when I'm not actually working, I should be able to make a bit of money. I'm counting down the days until summer, I was crazy busy last year so hopefully it's the same this time around :)

im not in the NE.
I cover south, however this monday and tuesday i went to birmingham and i experienced the worst tour i have ever had.
Like it was completely dead, enough to cover my costs only, and if i wanted to work through the night (fine) but i don't work through the night.
Start at 10am usually, and i didn't get a client until lunchtime. cancelation straight after and nothing to replace it.
first time there, so expected to be reasonably busy, but went into the city centre to do some retail therapy instead and it was just packed with families.
since it was so quiet i thought i may as well spend time with my child, since its easter hols and start back next week.
tours cost me money, because of childcare as well as the accommodation and petrol.

Last year Easter wasn't right at the tail end of March (it's unusually early this year.)

I was on holiday, came back hoping it will be busy, but it's not for me. In general I don't work a lot, but last 3 days were dead for me... Last 2 days not even 1 phone call. Will just relax and and hope for a busy April  ;)

I was in Birmingham, it was good but you have to deal with a lot of timewasters, no shows and general idiots.  My thursday was fully booked, out of the 5 who did not honor their appointments 2 were cancellations and the other 3 were no shows.  Friday was pretty much the same but all in all i made a profit.
