It's gone quiet now after a very strong start of the month. Oh well, fingers crossed it picks up again.

I am on tour in Kent this week and today is really quiet and has gone dead! I have only had one job so far today which was only 20 minutes. I was hoping it would be busy. Yesterday I did ok and had quite a few calls and texts but I dont get why its gone so quiet today.

I am here for another day but dont know whether to stick it out or leave a day early. I think the only option is to stick it out and maybe go home tomorrow evening rather than friday morning. Has anyone else been quiet this week? I am stuck in a hotel and dont know what to do  :(

Hi Sandra,

It looks like its not just me then. I thought it would be busier but it seems a lot of places seem to be quiet at the moment. Its like I feel guilty about spending any money on food as I dont seem to be earning much. It makes the day drag when the days are like this. What do you do in the day when the days are quiet like this :(

I'm in central London. don't know what's happening this December & November. Usually these two months my phone won't stop ringing (I sometimes needed to turn it off because I couldn't handle such volume of work). This is the first december in 17 years in the business that my phone is soooo quiet. Seriously... I was so much busier in August! WTF!. I really don't know what the hell is going on. A banker regular of mine told me yesterday that UK is suffering a recession and the banks have fired 30% of their employees and there's something going on with the financial markets, Chinese economy going downhill and the wars in the middle east bla bla bla....

WTF :FF

Dead.  Nothing yesterday and only an hour today (which was booked in advance).   :FF

Let's hope it picks up asap!

It was quiet all day with 1 booking followed by a 2 hour out call with a regular who extended for an extra hour.  I'm sat here waiting for him to come back.  Feeling above board now. :)

Had a 2 hour today and ive got 6 hours worth of bookings booked in for next week with regulars. Enough to keep me ticking over nicely but this time of year is normally the busiest for me with 3-4 bookings every day without fail

Gave up on Farnborough.
Phone barely rang this week.
Portsmouth tomorrow abd Friday, May have to work Saturday if it's dead cos only covered costs this week, literally made approx ?160 profit.
The apartment cost ?110 a day but with petrol and childcare really was rubbish.

It looks like its not just me that is finding it really dead today then. I have only had one booking all day and that was only 20 minutes. I have made my petrol and hotel costs but it would be nice if I could make a profit, I dont know what tomorrow is going to be like. I was supposed to be going on tour next week but I am thinking of staying at home, it seems I keep wasting money on hotels and not getting back what I put in. It has been quiet at home which is why I have been touring. It has been so boring today and hoped it would be busy.

Portsmouth today-
Good start 2 hours and one 45 min.
But now nothing.
Trying to hang on here for another hour before I head off home.
Not waiting til 7 when its like this.
Don't know what's happening.
October and November was really good. December has been the worst month in ages and is normally the busiest for me to.

Is it just me or is the amount of (or should I say lack of!) credible work coming through just ridiculous at the moment. I work from an area of fairly low average income and have not had a single call from someone who isn't a time waster, chancer or freebie hunter in over a week! I don't seem to remember it being this bad in previous years. Is it just me?  ???

Welcome to the club storm. Same here  :FF. I don't know what the heck is going on. Even my regulars seem to be to busy christmas shopping or watching the Champions league.
