I'm about to go outside and look for some lunch. THAT will get the phone ringing, no doubt.  ::)

Guaranteed!!! I need to go out at some point too, and I KNOW as soon as I'm out the phone'll start ringing  :FF
Exact same thing happened yesterday t-time..!!

This always happens to me too!  The funny (and messed up) thing is that i'll get to a certain distance 5 minutes down the road, and they start calling.  When I get to the corner now, I expect it lol.  It's just plain weird.  It's almost like the Universe is having a little laugh at my expense.  Drives me nuts!

My last Heathrow tour, the nearest shop was like a 15/20 minute walk away. I was halfway there when someone called for a booking... told him I could meet him in 45 minutes. Apparently that wasn't soon enough  :FF

My phone DID start to ring just as soon as I started to put food in my mouth. I ended up with one hour and then fielded several calls all wanting to come at the same time. I had one guy call for 5pm for an hour and I'd booked him in. Then turned away a handful of others. Just got a cancellation off Mr. 5pm and saw that he'd texted in a timewastey way last time I was here (I hadn't saved his number as he hadn't been severely timewastey and this time he'd called so I didn't see the text thread.)

Have tried to get back to the guys I turned down but I don't think any of them are still interested.

Then some guy called asking for 5pm for a half hour but he sounds a bit... unsure. I've accepted the booking and written down his number and I will bump him if anything better comes along. When I'm working in the City I get a little more ruthless with my bookings - not quite double booking, but definitely staggering arrival/confirmation times and cancelling if necessary. Well, I'm going to do that for the rest of this week.

It is very slow for me to today and it's just my luck as I go out the door or just step inside a shop a client wants to see me  :FF  and sometimes it's a case they want you there and then. But sitting in just staring at 4 walls would drive me insane so sometimes it's a case of having to get out lol xx

Keeping busy in between bookings helps attract more. I missed calls last night when got in from the gym. But it was ok.

Today was looking pretty quiet for me. Then just had a 2 hour come in for later. Yay!

Oh, now my 5pm is utterly fucked up. Guy tells me he's running late... then tells me that he's a taxi driver and will let me know when he's not busy. WHAT KIND OF TAXI DRIVER MAKES A 5PM BOOKING WITH THE IDEA THAT HE WON'T BE BUSY THEN?!

Thank god I already accepted another booking who maybe will even show up in the next few minutes. (This was done after the first text saying he was running late and I already suspected he wasn't going to make it.)

Well! The guy I accepted was in a massive hurry and very cheerfully paid my half hour rate and was in the room for no more than 4 minutes. He was really sweet and friendly and just happy as a lark. "Gotta go before I get a ticket!"

That really made up for the earlier bullshit.

Haha seriously?! That sounds like an awful lot of money for nothing? Why did he even bother?

Who knows?! But he seemed completely happy about it. He did say on the phone that he was after a "quickie" and I said that my shortest was a half hour and he was utterly on board with the whole thing.

God, I wish he grew on trees.

And I have another one on the way due any minute. In fact, I stand to make more now than if my original 5pm booking hadn't cancelled. So, I'm happy.

Oh for fucks sake! Now my 6:30, who had to push back to 7:00 because the train was running late, is still late. Texted 11 minutes ago to say he was walking and would be "5-10 minutes." And that means he's now pushing up against my 90 minute booking. FUCK! I will have to text the 7:45 guy and tell him I'll need an extra few minutes if this guy even shows.

Why are they fucking with me today?
