Things aren't crippling slow, but on tour for the first time in months and forgotten how many time wasters you have to deal with as the new girl. Yeah, and really?! and god damn I can see you coming a mile away but where are the real punters? Maybe I should just go back home and stay there because it's exhausting to be having phone conversations that lead nowhere all the time...
Quite tempted to tour myself as I'm sure it will attract more business when there's someone new in the area. x :)

Don't get me wrong, touring's great! I'm all about it. And in places I've toured frequently you start to weed out time wasters.

And to be honest, some of it's kinda funny. Like the guy who sends me this text 5 to midnight: "Are you really available today or did you just have your light on from yesterday."

I dunno, dude. You check the time. I assume you can ?
Some people are good with numbers, they become accountants. I'm useless with numbers but very good at sex.

School holidays are always slow I find, but I'm beginning to wonder if my gut instinct is failing me, as I've had a couple of tw's this week who sounded very genuine on the phone when booking, and then not confirming on the day.  Normally I can spot them a mile off, but it is a tad frustrating when it's quiet and this happens.  Luckily I managed to replace the one yesterday, and it's still early, so I might get to replace the one today.
I wonder if those of us who have been in the business for a long time, still get fooled by tw's?

Oh, we do alright, just not as often.

I was getting ready to go home yesterday at about 5.30pm when a bloke rang and asked if I could do an hour at 7.15pm - he sounded perfectly genuine so I agreed and gave him clear directions to the landmark as he wasn't local and he told me where he was staying, which was less than ten minutes away.

At 7.20pm I texted him as I was concerned he'd got lost and he said he was just walking up, then ten minutes after that when he still hadn't called I was convinced he'd gone the wrong way so I rang him as it was coming up to half past by now. He assured me he was just turning into and walking up my road - the road I was by now standing in and looking down, which predictably had nobody in sight ::)

I do wonder what they get out of knowing that he'd made me, you know, get home a couple of hours late ???

I'm ticking along so far. Did 2 bookings yesterday and I have an hour so far booked in today. I'm having Easter weekend off so hopefully it will pick back up at the same or better pace Tuesday onwards.

It's comforting in some small way to know that nobody is utterly immune to time wasters.

Amy, your guy sounds like a guy who called me a couple of weeks ago. Really went to great lengths to convince me he was on his way.

I honestly think I get about the same amount of tws by phone as when I first started, from AW and other places but much more able to suss now of course.

I had someone I?ve seen 3 times over a year, book yesterday with half hr notice and then no show. First one of the year and it?s someone I knew! I?ve had about 3 others who I've seen once or twice over the years who then no showed although never had a reg do it. Maybe it was because I was unable to see him earlier and he was annoyed and I think with some of them who like to mess, they have the fantasy that they are somehow very special compared to other men and entitled to be offered freebies  >:(

Have an hour booked at 2, so far I've just had a moron ring and then cancel his booking because there's been brothel raids in my area, then keeps putting in blind booking requests with made up prices  :FF

One reg this morning who text 5mins after he should have been here saying he couldn't make it but might be able to squeeze me in tomorrow  :FF

If he books I will cancel on him 5mins before because I think these Mr important so busy types need putting in their place from time to time. Thankfully I'm taking the next week off or I'd end up without any clients left!

So far just one 1 hr appointment. New client, who felt no need for the bathroom before or after the punt. Absolutely no concept of hygiene.  :o

All this headbanging will give us migraines and frown lines :( but I hear ya  :)

Had one fairly decent one today at least but two called today wanting to give me a grand total of 5 mins notice. When they told me where they were, they were indeed 5 mins or less away by car. They knew where I was so must've read my profile yet seemed to miss the bit about giving minimum half hour notice  :FF

I've had three long bookings and the fourth (one hour) just cancelled. However, the last was two hours and I'm feeling a bit drained so I'm sort of relieved. I shouldn't be, but I am. I'm really not at my best this week and have barely limped through covering my hotel and then my weekly minimum.

I could probably replace the cancellation but I don't want to. I want to fuck off and do nothing for a while.

I got lucky - a decent-sounding gent called to make a booking for 6:30, so I will end up having had three hour-or-longer bookings and I still get a break. And then my evening ends at a reasonable time and I can fuck off and relax guilt-free.

This tour (Liverpool) hasn't been great but after expenses I've still made at least what I would have made at home and I got to go to a gig on Tuesday night and see some friends I haven't seen in a while so I'm glad I came.

I think I"ll give Liverpool anther chance at some point - just make sure it's not a week when some schools are on break.
