I had someone text me that today. They also claimed to have got the number off a friend...

Oh I am getting fed up of the 'I got your number off a friend'brigade.
Funny how these ones always book in and then start asking what you do etc only to say they got the number off a mate and said mate didn't tell them anything about you.
Not been especially slow the past couple of weeks but alot of timewasters to go with the normal enquiries.

I've had a few like that recently. I do know that some clients have genuinely gotten my number word of mouth, but a few recently have me baffled. For instance one guy has booked me several times, but still says he doesn't know my basic details. We've not actually made it to a booking yet because of his faffing and he refuses to let me give him any info.

The weekend was really busy for me, and I was really grateful because it's made up for the crappy few weeks I've had.  But yesterday and today have been full of timewasters, cancellations and no shows.  Seriously, ONE after the AFTER.  It's really frustrating.  It starts to mess with your head. It's annoying when they are very sporadically occuring, but when it's one after the after (and I'm not exaggerating) it's a headf***

Am in the Reading area also and had a quiet day too,
I am not the most patient of people mind, so if I haven't had bookings for later on in the day, I do other things.
It's ok to write the day off every now and then.
I dont tend to worry about 'what if i get a call later,' I can't be at peoples beck and call all of the time!
It will pick up again, Reading is usually busy (been here on and off for a few years now) x

Hi louise, today was possibly the worst day so far i've ever worked, 3 people all book for an hour booking this afternoon, none of them showed, I texted one of them (I don't normally do if they don't show but he seemed real genuine and wanted to see me about PSE) when he was 30 minutes late and he just texted back "oh sorry, had to cancel" and i'm thinking well thanks for letting me know!!! I don't think i've ever gone a whole day with nothing when i've needed it, fingers crossed for this evening. I don't normally work weekends but I think i'm going to have to stay here a few more days just to make up the costs, but its good to know its not just me! I have another friend working here as well and she's found the same thing recently too. I learnt this is an unpredictable business but it just doesn't seem to be picking up right now

I feel the same Donna, just feels like it's never picking up. Had only a 30min booking today so barely profited so far.

I've had one 15 minute booking today (which I don't normally do but hey) and thats it and i've been available since 11am this morning...its the most wonderful time of the year....NOT!

I am in Reading too and is quiet
Today was really quiet...tomorrow I have a few things booked.
Hope next week gets better as I am soon off for 3 weeks
