It's important to look at things over the course of a week or a month, that's for sure.

I'm finding it very quiet right now - even Jamie Oliver is closing 3 restaurants out of 4 because they're losing money. Not particularly high-end, either. People aren't spending. Why, if we're in such a marvelous economic recovery??

- But I would still never cancel going to a hotel just because the phone was quiet before I left home

HI Sarah, I am only able to do outcalls and obviously this limits bookings, I was looking into booking a hotel room on laterooms and then just setting up there for the day but I figured I should wait til I had at least a couple of bookings for that day first though to cover expenses.  Do you have experience with this? thanks.x

It really is hard to say, I would hate to say do it and then find that you lost money, But I have never had that problem

From my own experience, these last two days has been slow beyond anything that I have ever known before, but I am still hopeful, I am now in profit and have a couple of bookings for later, so all is not lost. If I go home with 200 (after expenses) I will be happy. Considering what I did last week and what I spent shopping on Monday, I should be crying, but as KimberlyC said:
It's important to look at things over the course of a week or a month, that's for sure.
So I am more than happy with how the month has ended.

This week has probably been slow due to the fact most clients won't have been paid since the 19th December and tax bills for 2013 are also due this week. There's also the fact that Christmas will have made a lot of people skint too.
I'm sure it will pick up again by march

Thank goodness for my regulars, Jan has been very good for me and this week has been busy, probably because I am off for the whole of Febuary.

I concur. Like I said before, despite things being the way it is...sometimes when push comes to shove, you have to make clients feel that if they don't see you this week, they'll never see you again. I've really been having to push that I'm moving, and although I haven't even found a new place or boxed my things up...it's bought me a few extra clients that would otherwise put off meeting me. This past couple weeks, I been meeting clients who have put off seeing me for MONTHS and YEARS, and now that they know I'm 'moving', they're coming around.

Sometimes in life, in some businesses, you have to fib a little to get ahead. Just a little. Especially when things get too slow.

Is anyone else quiet in bristol? It has been dead for me for about 2 weeks! I have noticed some girls dropping their price so thought others might be. So frustrating! :FF

I offer a good service and I often put out discounts. It doesnt matter how good your service is sometimes you are going to experience quiet times. The thing is  not to panic over it x

Reading is pretty quiet.
I have noticed loads of new profiles over the past few weeks.
Also a fair few well known girls touring in my area.
I am touring also.
I had a complete wash out day last Thursday, I had 4 hours booked in, (new area) and every single one turned out to be a waster.
Normally I am really good at weeding out the timewasters, but not on that day.
It meant I lost out on genuine clients that day, it really p****d me off.
Friday was good though, it made up for Thursday.
I barely got any calls for my own area last week, so I am definitely going to continue touring for the time being.

There is nothing you can do about TW sometimes. I have seen a guy ring girls up on AW and call three up, book all them, then decide who he wanted at last minute cause, he can't make his mind up! My jaw dropped at  how selfish and inconsiderate some people can be.

Yep.
I wouldn't ever double book, as I think it is just unfair and I don't fancy all the negative feedback that would come with it.
Touch wood, I don't normally get no shows, but when I do, it all happens on the same day lol.

I find saying "so is this a definite booking then?" sometimes gets an honest "can I let you know" , I tell them yes but I cancel the booking. They made the booking in the hope that they could make it without actually knowing for sure if they could. I dont do hope. I do definite.Sometimes they call back and Im still free or Im not but sometimes you dont hear from them again which means they would have cancelled anyway or just not shown up. If they say "errr yeah" after hesitating then I still dont consider it a sure thing tbh as they had to think about it. x

It is really slow here in Cornwall at the moment. Doesn't help we are cut off from the rest of the country! Many of my clients travel down here for leisure or business but nobody can get here by rail and they are too worried about getting stuck here to drive/fly down. The flights get cancelled and the bridge keeps getting shut because of the wind!

Plus I have had to cancel all my plans for hotel days as I rely on the rail to get me to Devon for them.

Oh well, as we say round here, madder do ee!
