I had a quickie last night who literally came in his fifteenth minute. I realised that I don't really have the balls to tell someone "your time is up!" I would have gone quite a bit over before doing so.

I also won't really schedule them far in advance. Well, I tell them that if I get a call for a longer booking I will bump them.

I really don't think that I have the right disposition for these. I hate to say "no" or otherwise say anything negative. I like to be the sweet, giving, accommodating female. (I have absolutely no problem saying "no" when there's a problem. I mean that I hate creating situations where that may be necessary.)

That's why I only take 15 min bookings from guys who I know are quick. I had that senario happen many times, and occasionally it still happens now, but that's usually circumstances. You can't stop when they are just about to finish.

I aim to get it done in ten mins and most of them will do, so there is still five mins leeway. Quickies mean going straight for it, not chatting beforehand.

It can be so frustrating when the phone isn't ringing. You start to wonder if that's the way it's always going to be. But it won't. The phone will ring and you'll make your money.

Making money is easy. The hard part is saving money...and then saving enough to meet ends. That's the issue I'm having. And it's never really been an issue until about 2-3 months ago. I had someone who contacted me about booking this week by email and even included his gmail that had his pic and all his family photos...which I thought was odd. well, he cancelled out on me.

I have found January extremely busy ..... I have had to turn away several this week .... Only a week to go until I am off for a month on holiday to sunnier climes so a good month to finish on.  :D

That's how it was for me about 2-3 years ago. January was really good at one point, but I think due to the US government pushing back tax refunds, everybody is broke. Even my regular who promised to see me again in January has not even contacted me...and he's loaded! lol.

Just stressed, depressed, and over it. 25 days late on rent, my electric gas is going to be cut if I don't pay it by next week, car needs fixing, other bills need paying...it's just a living nightmare. This is probably the worst it's been in years. Then to top it all off, I'm getting stood up for appointments.

I was told a long time ago to cancel the tour if you didnt have any bookings before you left, even just one would do. I think its a load of rubbish. Many a time I left with no bookings then my phone would start ringing on the day. I think guys get wise to the fact that a lot of girls cancel their tours last minute and they dont want to be let down so they wait for on the day often.

When I toured I made between 300 and 700 a day. Every day was somewhere in between usually about the 500 isn mark. I know some will think thats shite but for me it was fine. I didn't travel very far and used a chain hotel to keep my costs down "just in case". I do think its silly to spend a fortune when touring or to assume you will be busy. At the end of the day so long as you made a decent profit then its smiles right. I haven't toured for 3 years though so I couldn't say what it would be now.

The fact is that we all sit here saying we are busy or we are quiet but no one actually posts what they class as busy or quiet so we can't judge by each others posts.

For me december was a bag o shite apart from a couple of monumentally busy days. The minute christmas day was out of the way my phone went nuts. Last week though it died a terribly, painful and lonely death, hoping better for next week lol.

Re bills, I manage to get my two rents plus bills paid but not actually saved anything x

I won't say it's rubbish...but it is partly true that many times I've gone on tours where advanced bookings cancelled, but I ended up getting calls from others. However, I would not risk myself going on tour with no clients. It used to work 2-4 years ago. But now, it would just prove far too risky to do so.

At this point, the only time I plan a tour or continue on from 1 city to the next, is if atleast 2 clients book me and DON'T cancel. That way, if 1 cancels, I'll have the other to fallback on in worst case scenario. I always think worst case scenario on tours these days because that's just how it is. It's very rarely a "wow I did better than I thought" anymore except when I went to San Francisco and Washington, DC. The only few remaining cities left in this dumpster of a country that you can actually go to and clients don't try to talk your rates down or complain about price and actually tip well.

Most tours lately, it's just been as expected, barely cutting it...or breaking even. That's when people don't cancel. Whatever I get before I arrive, is what I'll get when I arrive. And in America...there's so many touring escorts that they don't even care anymore who's visiting because next week, they'll be another batch of gypsies in town. When people do cancel, you can very well end up stranded and Lord knows...you don't want that.

I actually lost the will to live today, I had a guy ring who has seen me before but he wanted me available in 20 mins and the shortest notice I could do was an hour so no booking, the rest of my calls/texts were timewasters.

My last tour was with no advanced bookings and was kept busy when there. So the theory of a tour being successful depending on advanced bookings in my opinion is invalid.

I'm finding it very quiet right now - even Jamie Oliver is closing 3 restaurants out of 4 because they're losing money. Not particularly high-end, either. People aren't spending. Why, if we're in such a marvelous economic recovery??

So there is some good that comes out of a recession!

Just found out what you girls mean by slow, I only did a half hour booking yesterday, seven hours on the Kindle watching crap daytime TV. But with a booking this morning, I have covered my expenses, and as I am here till 5.30pm, if I can do another 3 x 30 minutes I could take home ?200 - But I would still never cancel going to a hotel just because the phone was quiet before I left home

Considering what I took last week doing two days, ?200 is extremely slow. but if I work out what I have taken home this month it has not been a slow month.
