When I posted a new advert in the Sunday Sport, I got 83 phone calls in one day. Over 50 wouldn't respond by text.
Periodically - about every two weeks for me - I change my ad in the Sport. The number of calls you get in one day from an ad is normally about 50 (I'm a lot older and expect a lot less) but out of the 50 callers the average number of clients you get out of that is normally about a 10:1 ratio. ie one in ten that calls becomes a client. Calls doesn't = clients. Bookings doesn't = clients.
It's been said a million times before, until they are thru the door and you have the money in your hand (they haven't lied and said they left the money in the car or similar) then they are not a client. A million calls doesnt mean a million clients. We have to be realistic. No sense in thinking we are losing out if we miss a call. There are so many TW and NS now that it is not real. Five years ago I had to have someone to answer my phone for me because of the volume of calls received. I simply couldnt work and answer calls at the same time. Nowadays even having a receptionist/telephonist is taking a chance. Oh for the days it was 5 years ago before the abundance of girls flooded the industry. But the girls who have been in the business for 10 years are probably saying that about me too.
One thing is for sure, its not what it used to be and it never will be again. Well IMO anyway.
Take care all and I hope everyone has a great week ahead.
