Slow at the minute or just me?

It's also worth remembering that a lot of people don't use the Underground, especially in summer - I don't unless I've got no choice. The buses and cabs will all still be there, and people who work nearby and can't travel far will want somebody they can walk to :).

Kay:
A lot of people will work from home though, if at all possible.

nachos:
Most definitely. As buses will be absolutely packed  and near impossible to get on, during the rush hour especially.
Most people would try to cycle/walk to work, or just work from home.

Then the ladies who live/work further out might benefit instead.

I was in Victoria last week when it was hot, and I don't think a single punter got to me on the underground. It did mean cancelling one who hadn't bothering thinking where to park and was half an hour late (at last check) because he then couldn't find anywhere, but such is life.

It might well put off the any-holes-a-goal opportunists, but in my experience if punters really want to see you they're perfectly capable of organising themselves :).

I was there the same week and I don't think there were too many Tube riders for me, either. But, then, I was in the City where most clients will walk from their office.
