Should I put my prices up?
« on: 28 February 2024, 07:40:03 am »
So I moved to a completely new area about 3 months ago and my prices are 30 - 100 pounds cheaper per hour than all of the other independent ladies in the area.
I mostly get 30 min bookings where my price is about £20 cheaper (I don’t charge extras and most of them do - don’t do anal).

A few customers have mentioned that they were expecting to pay more and my prices seem a little cheap..I still get hagglers but you will always get that.

The problem is I’m not busy.. I’m surviving but I’m not thriving. This may be due to the time of year, I haven’t been here long enough to work out what is normal yet.

Would you put your prices up to match the other ladies or keep them as they are?

Yes I am wondering the same. I can keep going but that is all however it is not an affluent neighbourhood so at least I can get work every single week.

I have noticed some are charging £60 more than my one hour (I charge£100) and would be amazed to hear they were busy! The usual rate here is £120. Even my local friend struggles so she is getting a part time job.

I would suggest if you have a 'unique selling point' then put them up a tad. If it were richer here there is no way I would only charge £100 hour.

Also February is invariably crap for earnings! It may be you need some regulars or returnees building up too.

I have never charged extras as it does not sit well with me so anal and cim are included. No anal for a quickie though.

I think it's definitely worth a try especially as some clients have mentioned expecting to pay more and that sounds like they'd have been prepared to do so.
I may be wrong but I think other than the total cheapskates that you get everywhere, some clients can be a little wary of much cheaper than average prices for the area and may wonder if there is an underlying reason for it.
As you say, the reason you're quiet just now could be due to the time of year or maybe the fact that you're new and haven't yet built up a regular client base.
I'd say being new to the area could be a great time to try an increased price structure, you're not going to get them all moaning about your price increases if they didn't know you were much cheaper before  ;D

In Essex the hourly rate is average £200, I did go to £180 and now back at £200. My regulars don't hesitate to haggle and I've taken off 30 min bookings.

When I was £160 I could do 5 a day but at £200 I average 3 a day and on my regulars busy day 5, I'm happy with just 3 a day.

But I'm trimming down my lifestyle so I can get by on less, I find I'm busy 1 week out of the 3 I work. Now only doing 2 x 4 days a month.

£120 is the local average where I live but I offer a slightly lower rate so I get enough business.

I'm on £120 an hour and have been for 6 years. It was the average fee at that time for my area (up north) but currently I see the average is £140. I haven't increased my rate and don't intend to. In 15 years I have only increased twice, at £10 per time. All my regs were fine about it  and I assumed understood that the cost of absolutely everything goes up including people's wages! What I didn't do is try to justify or explain myself to any of them. All I did was respond to their booking requests and say my fee is now £120. This was because many no longer looked at my advertising.

I charged 130 hh 180 hour. But I’m a bbw and submissive so can charge a little more for a niche.
