tour de France- any other Yorkshire ladies affected?
« on: 05 July 2014, 07:52:54 pm »
I'm in Leeds which has been closed most of the day so that the Tour De France can pass through, and a load of grown men can come out and play on their bikes. Pfft.
I'm usually quite busy (to the point that 5 days out of 6 I have to decline bookings) but today- nothing. Not even the obligatory timewasters. I've even rang my work phone from my personal phone to check its working.
Has anyone else on the Tour De France route suffered this badly?!
They tried to bury us.
They didn't know we were seeds.

Pah, it's one of the world's great sporting events :) If you had blogged about it or otherwise made a fuss about it in advance, you may have caught the attention of some of the people who went to Leeds for the start.

Tomorrow should be fine in Leeds... except that another million or so people will be elsewhere in Yorkshire if the weather is good.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

I was fine because I am near the bus station nor near the bits that were closed.I did 2 bookings.I find Saturdays hit and miss anyway so was happy with that.
I had a bloke emailing claiming he was one of the riders wanting a 2 hour but I suspect it was a windup because he emailed like one hour before reckoning I would answer, get him booked in and he would get from Harrogate to me all in an hour.He also whittered on about bringing champagne but probably not Bollinger as he wasn't sure we would have such a thing in Leeds...knob!

Looks like it's Essex is getting it today.  Good luck girls.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Folks, a quick Google of Tour de France will give you the entire route - today's stage goes through eastern England and finishes in Central London, where it's been all over the papers for long enough.
