Outcall - Forgot Some Money
« on: 23 July 2019, 06:14:21 am »
Hello,

I just went to an outcall for one hour and the client wanted two hours but when I arrived we never discussed the time so I had a shower before we started and came to the conclusion to just go with it, of course it ended up being only an hour. Because he gave me the money for my two hour rate, the cash was sitting on the table.

After we finished, I had a shower and came out and only took the amount of money for my hourly rate plus my outcall fee which would be +$50 CAD (I'm sorry, it's not in the European currency!! It's not a significant amount). Anyway, i got home and realized I am short the outcall fee of +$50. I don't think he took it because I counted it myself and I think it was totally my error and getting confused with all the bills. Would you text your client and let him know, would you just make a note that he owes you the amount, or would you just leave it or do something totally different?

If you know it's ok to text him I'd do so making a joke of it, see if he offers it. If you don't know it's ok to text then don't.

I'd take it as a lesson to be specific and work out the cash upfront. I too have gotten mixed up at the end, even recently after counting up front. The client had got mixed up with an odd (created by him) deposit amount, we still got mixed up but I was definitely right. I'd spent the whole booking turning it over in my head, will tackle it head on next time then it can be forgotten.

I presume he intended you to take the 2 hour fee which you both agreed on or he wouldn't have left  it on the dresser. I take my fee within a couple minutes of entering. Then it doesn't really matter if he lasts 10 minutes or 119 minutes.

We all have different ways of working so you have to go with what works for you Jelli.

From what you're saying he did his duty and laid out the correct amount. The perfect client! :). It's my responsibility to collect the cash and count it correctly. I wouldn't trouble this nice man, that would be unprofessional. If I make a maths mistake it's my bad. Nothing to do with the client. ;)

Put it down to experience and move on. Leave you meeting with him on a good note and maybe he'll return or put in a good word about you on punting forums.

As it was your mistake, I would write it off.

It’s a bit like the signs you see in shops asking you to check your change at the time and that mistakes cannot be rectified later. I would put this one down to experience and I would not text him as he may be with a girlfriend.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.
