"fbsm"?

You can deactivate a facebook page by going into the settings. Go to the help section if confused.

Where is the review? Is it AW or a punter site?

I don't think where it is is much to do with anything (as far as I know, AW don't have space for the posting of photos); what's more important is how your work persona has been linked to a facebook picture?

There are various threads here about it, but the main tenet is to not use any pictures or contact details for work that you also have on personal stuff/dating sites or whatever :).

Well this wasn't down to a review but it was someone trying to out me years back, a nasty manipulative guy who hadn't even seen me but didn't like my honesty. The advice given to me was basically delete dating profiles, deactivate FB etc, which I did.

It might seem drastic, but may be worth doing, at least for a while. For this reason I have nothing to do with social media.

Lock  down your face book profile to private so it's for friends only dont even do friends of friends bit

Don't accept request from people that you don't know

Don't have the face book app on your work phone and dont log in on work phone to face book either

Better still delete your old face book profile and start up a new one

There are some guys who are happy just to call, trot along to see you and leave till next time. Then there is the other over nosey kind who want to find out every single fragment of your personal life, for whatever reason.

Don't have a single piece of your personal information linkable to your work persona, that includes having more than one phone for obvious reasons. Many of us use two or three work phones and have our personal one totally separate. The work ones can be totally turned off when you are not available or don't want to be contacted.

Don't use your work phones for anything except work. It's just not worth it.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Agree with what everyone has said, but what's not been mentioned is google searches, if someone now has your full name they can easily put it into google or searchelectoralroll.co.uk and find out the street you live in and the postcode along with anything else associated with your full name on Google.

I had a stalker client do this to me as my information was on 192.com and the one mentioned above and he gave the information out, so always Google yourself aswell, and if you are on any of those site put forward a removal request to get your information off there then go in Google and search "Remove outdated content" to get the link that no longer works removed off Google. I had so many things on mine, pictures, my office address and other stuff, but all has been removed and if anyone googled my name now there is only my Facebook and an old MySpace with no pictures that comes up! The rest are other people with the same name.

This was a life saver for me when said client was sending threats, it's actually pretty scary how many different places your name can be if you're on the electoral roll and if you have social media! I also agree never to use Facebook on your work phone or Whatsapp actually that's a bugger! X

with regards to the electroll roll ( copied and pasted )

When you complete your annual electoral registration form you have the option to opt out of having your personal details included on the open electoral register. It's important to tick the opt-out box on the form.Otherwise your details will be on the public roll

There are two electoral registers. The full register lists everyone who is entitled to vote. Only certain people and organisations can have copies of the full register, and they can only use it for specific purposes. These include electoral purposes (which isn't defined and interpreted liberally), the prevention and detection of crime, and checking your identity when you've applied for credit.

The open register omits the names and addresses of people who have asked for them to be excluded from that version of the register. It's this version of the register that's on public sale.

So you do have the option to not have your details on the free stalker ( I mean public version )

Alternatively don't register for the electoral role at all. If you have no interest in voting, it's fantastic for avoiding nearly all junk mail.

I was told this year by a (very aggressive) lady who was collecting electoral roll forms that it was the law. She tried to force me to sign there and then, in fact her manner stank so I complained about her but that's another story.

@ Paris useful info there

***Edit sorry bit off topic there

By law you have to be on the electrol roll they now require you NI number so no being at 2 address for credit purposes

In theory they don't chase it up if you aren't on the ER but if your not it's very hard to get any sort of credit
