Author Topic: Hmmmm, Working full-time over the summer? What are your working hours? (Read 1345 times)

Hiya girls,

Ive been a student whilst working, so often my time has been fully ram packed with college, coursework after, seeing clients, going out with my friends etc, so before I never really had a day off.

Now I know for me my busiest times are in the mornings around between 3-6pm everyday.

Now I'm saving up for things I need particularly a deposit for a new flat, I've worked out i need to see 11 clients per week on my half hour rate, or 6 at my half hour rate.

I want to enjoy my summer and instead of having to work around bookings, I've decided I'm going to work Monday-Friday 9am until 6-7pm, and then I have the evenings to myself.

My worry is though cutting out weekend work, do you think I'm doing the right thing here?

Do you think it would be better to do Tuesday- Saturday instead?

Can people give me an idea of their working hours?

I don't really set a schedule to be honest, I say on my profile I work 12pm-midnight but if you want an early morning booking to let me know the day before as I don't wake up until 10/11am, still getting off my stripping schedule. I don't get a lot of requests for that time to be honest, it's pretty unusual for people to want an early booking-- usually the requests I get for that time are outcalls and they're long appointments, like 2 hours, guys who are working from home.

I try to see around 2-3 clients a day Tuesday-Saturday and 1 on Sunday and 1 on Monday. I just sort of see the way my bookings work out, usually I get calls between 9am-1pm and if I can get 3 on the books for the day I just try and push people to book close together so I don't have to work for 6 hours or something. Then after I've seen my 3 clients I stop picking up the phone and anyone who leaves a voicemail or sends a text gets a text messaged I've already written out and can just paste that says I am booked for the day but if they would like to book tomorrow to let me know.

The times you said are what I usually get the most requests for-- after 7pm the number of people wanting to book greatly decreases so I think you'll be fine with your times, especially if you're happy to start work earlier. And I almost never get requests for Sunday.

Martine, take it a day/week at a time. The first week work when you want and see if it works for you. If it doesn't, see what days you are busy and which you are not.

"In the olden days" rofl, we knew we would be busy every day we were working, that is not the case now.

Just be flexible and suit yourself as much as you can.

The most important thing you can do is chill when you are not working.

I'm stuck for the summer because of school hols. unless my hubbycan mind our child. so half of july and all of august 'i'm stuck as no one else knows what i do so i cant get anyone to mind her only hubby and he has a job

what about school holiday club a couple of days a week? Your child will get to play with its friends still and you can still work and haave extra money to take her out on the days you are both together.

I was like you was escorting when I was at uni, I think the busiest period is Tuesday-Saturday, and if I want some quick cash I would normally go on tours for few day, can always get around a grand
