Hello

I currently use super slik lube, but now I am looking for a anal lube with numbing agent in it, that is also suitable for the vagina. I've heard that some anal lubes are silicon based which can irritate the vagina & that water based is good. However I am getting confused with all the brands & types. There must be an anal lube with numbing agent that is also suitable for the vagina anyone know that can help? x

I always use silicone lube for general stuff and a thick/gel type, water based one for anal - I've never heard of any lube that could only be used for one or the other although some are better used for different things. I like Pjur Woman, but find it too 'thin' for anal.

Is there a reason you want one with a numbing agent? If you're planning on using it a lot, be aware that anything which stops you feeling pain may prevent you from noticing damage or injury - pain happens for a reason.

Yeah - I get something at Anne Summers called Booty Relax in a purple pump bottle. It's mildly desensitising but does not contain lidocaine.

I think if you look on Lovehoney and look specifically for desensitising anal lubes, you can then see if it's water-based or not, although you have to scroll down to the bottom of the product description to see if it is or not (there's a sort of yes/no FAQ for each one).

Here is a lube that does contain lidocain (remove the gap in the link and paste into browser to view)

www.amazon .com/Relax-Percent-Lidocaine-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B00BU9SYDU

If you click on and enlarge the photos you can read the full ingredients and none of those appear to be a silicone (which I think would be a word ending in "-one.")

However, I was just reading this product description on Lovehoney: www.lovehoney  .co.uk/product.cfm?p=3432 and I see the words "This product contains glycerine so be sure to use with non-latex condoms." While this is not a lube I am now confused as to whether or not the product I linked to above is OK because I do believe I saw glycerine way down at the bottom of the ingredient list.

Please note that what I am about to tell you is not medical advice and you should exercise your own judgement:

What I do when I want to ease vaginal irritation is to use Anebesol liquid. It contains lidocaine. It is sold behind the pharmacy counter for people who have mouth ulcers, teething babies or people who have sore mouths from wearing braces, etc.  It's safe enough to put in a baby's mouth so I feel pretty OK about putting it on my fanny. I can tell you that it stings a little for a couple of seconds. Then it does a pretty good job of desensitising the area quickly. It does not utterly numb me. I can still feel things and even have an orgasm. I never felt at risk of actually being injured due to not being able to feel what was going on down there. But I had a very busy week on tour and shagged 6-9 clients a day for five days straight and never got sore. The only caveat is that you will want to apply it maybe 20 minutes or so before a booking and then rinse it off before the booking as it won't taste nice and the client may notice the numbness on his tongue.

Amy, I find that the rolled-up bit of the condom at the base - especially if the shaft of the penis tapers and so the thing rolls up a bit - can start to irritate my labia. That's the only sort of irritation I seek to address. I never apply anything inside the vagina itself and I promise you that I can still feel things going on down there.

I do get some on my clit which makes it a little  less annoying when Mr. Romeo types insist on giving me oral. But, I can still feel and, if I feel like relaxing/they're good at what they're doing, I will still have orgasms. It doesn't completely numb me.

After numbing for a number of reasons - I'm trying out anal play on myself as I don't have a boyfriend & feel I would like to one day (when ready offer anal), also I already offer anal play to my clients so numbing lube could help with the nervous types. The vaginal reason is a bit silly I suppose, I am very petite & when I was touring last year I meet my 1st porn size cock, I was lucky the guy was well a accustomed to girls being scared & was very patient with my body being ready. Though I got there I felt bad I hadn't been more professional & since then I started to get paranoid about big cocks & how petite I am! So I have bought myself 'laughs' a porn dong, so I can warm up in the morning so what ever size comes through my door I know what my body is capable off. I just want a numbing lube to help with the mental block I have as I know can cope.

Anyone else had a 'clamping paranoia' or may be it is just me.

Thanks for the suggestions. x

Warming up won't hurt (I think!) but I've found there's a difference between being aroused and using lube. With the former, the vagina lengthens and widens a little, as well as being naturally lubricated, so it makes everything a lot more accommodating.

Of course, there's the issue of whether an abnormally large client can/would arouse you, but I do think the two sensations are a bit different.

I emailed LoveHoney & Bondara asking them for advise & they both confirmed any water based lube with numbing is safe to use in the vagina.

I don't get aroused with clients! As for my mental/physical learning what my body is capable  off by finding out on my own for me is a safe option, then trying to cope in an unexpected situation. x
