Does anyone have a strict Alcohol Policy?
« on: 15 January 2018, 09:41:10 am »
I often find a glass of wine of bottle of beer can create a relaxing environment and get things warmed up nicely.  However recently a guy had a bit too much and things very nearly got out of hand.

I'm very careful in offering alcohol to clients who have obviously been drinking before hand but this is very uncommon.

Does anyone disagree this is a bad idea or have any alcohol policies?

Yes, I do - I don't drink or offer alcohol when I'm working and if a punter turns up smelling of it I'll politely turn him away. I can't see any good reason why anyone would think sex and alcohol belong in the same situation to be honest, and there are plenty of very good reasons to keep it out of things; not least that it smells and tastes revolting when it's second hand  :-X

Yes I have an alcohol and drugs policy, I won't/don't want to see anyone who is drinking, drunk or under the influence of drugs.

I have been tolerantish in the past and have had some poor experiences, which I don't want to have to deal with.

Having become more and more explicit about this with new clients, some of whom have tried to get a bit clever (think necking pints and shorts in the first ten minutes or just before the start) I will now walk away or refuse to continue with the booking (and have recently done exactly that).

I've also turned up to hungover clients who have it oozing out of their pores, sweating, ill, and affecting performance (usually they end up berating themselves) so I often add this into my pre-booking-acceptance spiel.

I do have regulars who will have one beer just before they arrive, or a glass of wine but most won't. This might be because they know a bit more about me(I'm teetotal because of a reaction I have if I consume alcohol), so avoid doing this out of sheer respect.

Same as Amy - I never have alcohol before or during a booking. I've seen a couple of tipsy clients, but it's unusual as most drive to me.

As almost all men drive to me I do not have a client under the influence problem but one or two have arrived by public transport and popped into a nearby pub to gulp down a bit of Dutch courage. This is fine with me as long as they behave properly.  One man drove to me though and how he did not kill himself and others I will never know as he admitted he was an alcoholic and had consumed 2 bottles of red before getting into his car.  The booking was reasonably ok but under other circumstances and had I been able to see his reg. number I would have phoned the police to report him.

I used to do a lot of outcalls and some of the men would be more than a bit tipsy but to answer the OP question, no I do not have a no alcohol policy as I don't feel I need to these days but if a man brought a bottle with him and expected us to share it then a single small glass would be my own limit and I would just keep a strict eye on proceeedings and not feel shy in telling him to stop.

After 10 at night I won?t see guys arriving on foot or by taxi for that reason. Drivers only. Less chance of them drinking.🍷
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Unfortunately some of the poor experiences were men who told me they'd driven, driven longish distances............stoned, drunk, high. :o

I no longer work later than 5pm unless a reliable regular and I know he will materialise. I know men can be high or drunk at any time of day but cutting out the late bookings does minimise the chances I think.

I used to drink with clients... I enjoyed a bottle of wine with a long booking. But I no longer drink and so I don't let them bring it.

I don't really care if someone has had a drink before seeing me, so long as they're not drunk.

I have a one drink rule with regulars or bookings over 2 hours. I rarely work past 7pm unless on tour and for incalls I prefer to ask if they have had a drink. When I've worked from home or hotels I turn down anyone who sounds drunk bc I've had issues with drunken indiscretion and embarrassing penis issues.

Outcalls, I don't really mind if they are drinking tbh

On my last tour of Euston I had a guy book for lunchtime on a weekday. I'd seen him before in city of London, perfectly fine booking.

When he arrived he was drinking from a can of Coca-cola, I thought nothing of it. The booking went okay although he kept getting the giggles at random moments. He periodically drank more coke until the can was finished.

After he left I picked up the empty can and went to put it in the bin - and realised from the smell that he'd poured Jack Daniels or some other bourbon into the can. God knows how much. It didn't affect his performance but it's put me off seeing him again.

Anyway, I won't see anyone who's intoxicated, whether with drink or drugs. I've never drank alcohol during a booking and I never offer a drink of any type except when the weather is hot in which case I usually keep some bottles of water available.

My policy for alcohol is slightly different than the one for drugs. I will not tolerate drugs of any type, nor will I entertain a client already under the influence. I'm reasonably lucky that I don't live in an area with a big drugs scene, so it's not an issue that's frequently dealt with. When it comes to alcohol, I may allow a small amount in a booking, such as a small glass of wine, on extremely rare occasions. A drunken prick is just as annoyed as one who's coked up, in my opinion. Therefore, I won't tolerate anyone who's drunk, or even tipsy.

Yeah I did used to say I didn't mind new clients having one drink, unfortunately it was abused/misinterpreted and I also had the experience of someone taking swigs then kissing me a millisecond later.

A different person might like the sensation of licking around a wine glass, unfortunately I don't!

Yes. Every time I have had a nasty experience ( except two memorable afternoons with separate coke heads   :-X) It has been in the late evening with Strong-Ale swigging younger fellas.
More and more, I am finding myself asking callers if they will refrain from alcohol or drugs until I have left.
Too many times, the couple of hours from our call to me arriving at their home has seen them change from decent, polite callers..to absolute Dicks  >:(

The reason why it's only very occasionally is to stop people taking the piss. I definitely wouldn't be happy if I felt like I was snogging a pint of ale!  ;D
