Just as the title says.

Internally debating what route I should take.

I'm the type of person that doesn't want people close to me to ever find out. So telling an accountant and having it on record doesn't feel like the best route..

There are a few threads on this if you do a search. Also plenty of SW-friendly accountants around.

There are, and the bottom line is that an accountant is a professional service provider who (if doing their job properly) will have no interest in your job beyond what they need to know to provide you with an accountancy service.

They are also bound by strict confidentiality rules, so it's as if they're going to chatting about.you in the pub, and since withholding information from them means that they're unlikely to be able to offer you the best service they can it makes it relatively pointless paying one when you can do it all yourself?
