Caught an STI
« on: 29 August 2019, 02:02:34 pm »
Hi

I am sure this has come up any times but seems like a client has given me chlamydia. I have no idea how long I have had this for but am going to get treated for it. :FF  >:(  :-[

Has this happened to anyone else? I use condoms but I am strictly  having no further sexual contact with any client from now on unless I or he is protected in some way.

xxx

Sorry to hear this Maz.
Did you have any symptoms at all or was it just a routine check? X

I presume it's OWO. Yes Clams can be symptom-less and feel fine,  so you don't know you got it till you get checked.  That's why I like to get tested very 3-4 weeks for everything under the sun, especially that sneaky little bugger. I was given a pill at the GUM clinic to kill it. I also notified my clients.

Hi Phoenix

I had been getting abdominal pains but this is due to a large ovarian cyst I've just been diagnosed with. They did swabs to try and diagnose the pain and as a result, it turns out I also have chlamydia. :(

Thought I had been careful enough but clearly not. I guess it is a risk of the job but am definitely taking stricter precautions in future. X

Saltysweet,  I thought it might be down to OWO but think it must be from them rubbing their cock against my vulva as I had vaginal swabs taken.

BTW anyone know where I I can get contraceptive dams? Has anyone used these before?

xx

I got you Maz. Bad luck. I caught it outside work after a few seconds rubbing like you. I don't let clients swipe & wipe as clams is so infectious. I also stop fingers touching dick to vag and fingers touching bare dick to condom due to this. They don't  know any better, I guess most pepes may never get tested especially if they don't get symptoms. I do push their hand away. I'm always watching those sticky fingers like a hawk.

You can get dams from NHS GUM especially the dedicated SW'S GUM, try online perhaps?

Good luck with the cyst.

Hi saltysweet, no I def won't be letting that happen again.

I thought it could only be caught via penetration too so have learned something

I think most of us have probably had chalmydia by now, so no need to feel ashamed.

Banning fingering will cut the risk considerably.

Maz, how long ago was your last STI screen? Chlamydia often doesn't have any symptoms, so you might have been infected right after your last test. Unless there was an accident with condoms, they should protect you from Chlamydia in terms of penetration or OW.

Did you not know it can be caught by doing unprotected oral and infect the throat?

Yes if you let them rub there penis on your vagina unprotected that is a sure way to get it and also any pre cum or cum that might accidently drip on to the vagina is risky too.

I remember 1 time a client took his used condom off straight away as he pulled out of my vagina and as he flung it off a drop of his sperm had dripped on my vagina i was livid and worried that i could have caught something but luckily i was all good at the next health check.

All you can do is be careful and avoid doing anything unprotected unless you are prepared to accept that you will probably catch another STI.

The only time I had chlamydia was well over 20 years ago, non-paid sex, unprotected. I did feel the pain which is the reason I went to the Dr then the newly set up GUM clinic at the hospital.

I am so careful about semen and body fluids, wherever possible I use hand gel between touching me and a client's genitals or try to get a handwash in for example if I may need a loo trip between playing with me or him, so hands get washed then then I touch the other of us.

Yes being careful with removal is also important as is any COB, I have strict rules because of the times I've had to move very quickly to prevent dribbles reaching vulnerable areas.

Really sorry others have had this too, and glad it's being talked about.

OP,.sorry to hear this and like Mirror I'm glad it's being talked about. I try to be really mindful of cross contamination but one thing that always feels awkward is fiddling about with the condom after touching his cock. I always try to sneakily wipe my fingers on some antiseptic wipes while hoping that some smouldering eye contact will distract him from the 'clinical ' side of things. I guess we shouldn't be ashamed of doing everything we can to stay healthy.

Get a pump dispenser of alcohol based hand sanitiser.

It takes literally 5 seconds to do both hands and can be easily camoflaged by looking in drawers/bags for condoms.

You will need to use skin lotion after each booking though as it really dries your skin. If I run out of lotion my hands look like fucking cheese graters.

I've had oral chlamydia and it's really not a big deal. It's a shot of antibiotics (and it was more time consuming for me because I have an allergy to penicillin) and then you go back and get tested in a week and it should be all clear. I would imagine its similar with genital chlamydia.

Back in the early 90s I caught HPV aka genital warts from an unprotected one night stand. At the time the only treatment I was offered was basically acid (salycylic?) to burn the warts off, and a yearly cervical smear instead of 3 yearly.

Last time I had a smear I told her this info and the nurse said it was a total waste of time having annual smears as the vast majority of HPV strains don't lead to cancer and they no longer recommend this for females presenting with genital warts.
