Same as Lady except they must confirm 30 minutes before.

One day last week I had 2 lots of double bookings between 12-3 o'clock and juggled them around by apologising, re-scheduling 10 or 15 minutes earlier or later, creative timing and offering a little incentive to one of them. I'll aim to see the most expensive gigs first.

I find it easier to juggle when the men are all booking half hours.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Time is money!

As we all know sitting around waiting for a client who has booked, but then at the last minute says they can't come as they ..are stuck in traffic, called back to work, stuck in a meeting, family emergency, running late so can only come later..etc..etc..etc

Car broken down, phone died, GPS not working, lost bank card..blah...blah..blah.

So how do you prevent this loss in business?

double bookings, triple bookings for the same time, first come first served?

For me now it depends on where I am and how the phone is.

There are certain places where I don’t get many no shows so I just operate the normal appointment system there. What I like about some central locations is a no show is easier to replace.

If I’m in Glasgow, Belfast or Birmingham I will allow 10 guys to book the same time lol. They are really bad there. Especially Glasgow.

I and others have mentioned about treating regulars differently but I’ve found even they are  becoming unreliable.

I have one regular who books me almost every day in Scotland but about half the time he cancels me exactly an hour before. I strongly believe I am his Plan B. It’s annoying because he always books 9 or 10pm and on some of these occasions I would have just stopped work at 6 or 7. I’ve since told him only to book when it’s 100%. Nice guy apart from that.

Have come to realise that first come first served system can put off genuine guys who need tied to
a time. There are ways to do first come first served without actually saying that’s what you are doing.

The other time a first come first served necessary is when you wake to find 5 guys texting wanting 10am, 5 guys wanting 11 and 5 guys wanting 12. Would take you all that time to figure out which ones of these would be genuine. A first come first served and half hours only is what I recommend for that along with asking them to text which service they want. Then if two arrive together prioritise the one who will be asking for extras.

In Glasgow when I double and triple book it’s rare that more than one shows. I offer a discount to the one who has to wait. Often it works out that one doesn’t arrive dead on time so I can use the excuse that I couldn’t afford to turn down money as latecomers often turn in to can’t make it at all.
