Hey, I'm not sure what phone you have, but have you tried Mr Number Call Blocker? It's such a great little thing, it's free to download and will stop any unwanted messages or calls. Simply put in your stalkers number in the text and call bit and it will cut him off if he tries to ring so you won't even hear it, plus the texts won't show, except in a list on the call blocker.

I agree with everyone else though; I'd file a complaint about harassment to the police as you have every right to. I had a Pretty Woman timewaster and he's still trying to contact me. Looking at the work phone (old one which doesn't have it), I've had a similar array of texts too. He has been warned that any more and I will be pressing charges, despite me ignoring them and placing him under "Timewasting idiot" now.

Lolita what phone do you have? And is there a limit on that app to how many people you can block? Sounds great x

ATT has a smart limits plan for 5.00 )American and you can block up to 30 numbers. I'm sure other carriers have something similar. It way mostly geared towards parents so they could control their kid's calling but it's been a life saver for me

I have Call Blocker Pro for my BlackBerry and I don't think there is a limit - I've got about 400 blocked so far (off the top of my head).

I have an HTC phone (ChaCha) and it has a Call Blocker and SMS blocker as standard ..... I use it a fair bit for persistent text/call TW's.  Must be a nightmare without this facility as some guys do not give up!  ::)

Do the HTC handsets have built in block facilities? I always used Mr Number Call Blocker.

PP- you can have loads of people on it, I think it's unlimited. There is even a facility where you can block a whole town! :) x

You can block a whole town? Really?  :o  :o  ;D   That's actually amazing! Presuming that would be just landlines though? .

so, Amy, do you just use your one phone and block any pests? I can't really afford a 2nd phone bill right now-besides buying a new phone so I was just curious

Yes my ChaCha does so I would assume its an HTC standard.

I don't want to go off subject here as it's best we stay on the subject of stalkers. But, daft question, when would you know a phone stalker was one and when you should go to the police/what to say... like I said, don't want to go off subject, but someone (non client) who I went on a date with recently and it didn't work out and I blocked this guys number because he was texting and trying to ring LOADS.

To cut a long story short, having checked my Mr Number, this person has tried to contact me about 46 times. He's tried to ring but it mainly seems to be texts (I can't read what they say as I turned off the facility for reading them). But I had an unknown number the other day which I refused to answer.

Thing is, with clients, I have found they tend to give up if they are ignored, or at least the TW's I have previously had when working as an indie briefly! They normally sent about five or so stupid texts before giving up and not contacting again... but, erm, 46 times, sometimes at 2/3am is freaking me out a bit :(

The idea of blocking texts and calls is so that you don't get freaked out if they try to call or text.  Best to block and forget or you are as well not bothering blocking. ::)
