I noticed on Twitter. I think it is great of Amnesty. Lots of celebrities are now signing petitions to not support Amnesty anymore. Shocking... really... as if sex workers have no rights.
Anyway, if I didn't have to protect my identity (civvy job etc.) I would jump into the discussion on Twitter. I am not searching for anymore tweets, it's bad for my heart rate.

One tweet I read that said it all to me:

"Remember when Amnesty decided to campaign for abortion rights and a bunch of people stormed off in a huff? Yeah nobody misses them either."

Indeed!!! And how can they be against human rights for sex workers?? It boggles my mind. Really..... So everybody deserves human rights, just not sex workers?

We are being victimized a lot of the time. And I pay taxes, so I have rights! Years ago the Dutch tax authority and I had a disagreement. I tried fighting it. Went to the head office even for a few appointments. The way they looked at me.... it's degrading. I have to pay taxes but don't get the same respect as another self employed person. I gave up my battle with them, also to protect my identity. They know that's your weak point. My accountant thought I really had a good case, so much so, they gave me free consultations because they were also very upset with such injustice.
I didn't win the case, I settled. But it did feel good to have shown them you can do this work, have a degree, be smart, no drug addict and look the part. For what it is worth...

I applaud Amnesty!!!!

They voted for a policy on decriminalisation  I'm glad they didn't bow to pressure.
