Would you attend...?

Ok...this may sound really trivial, but I just wanted to see how others though of it.

There's a member on a local forum who is offering a paid escorting class, that basically goes over all the 'ins and outs' of escorting. I think its great, and is a good help...but at the same time, I have spoken to many escorts over the months and their advice is usually totally different than what I've experienced.

I've heard so many different opinions and ways of going about this that frankly I dont jump to asking others for advice anymore (except for here!). Im not going to go into all the examples, but you have an idea. I knew one girl who literally coached me to charge for extras...and I just did not agree with it, even though I witness her charge an extra $200 just to take her clothes off!

I actually would attend, but its half-way across the country from me. But how do you feel about attending a class on this, where you may stand differently in many aspects?

Is it in Jersey or Vegas?

If it were local or near local I would go. It would be fun to network. I also think there is nothing wrong with learning a few new things wether you agree with them or not. What ratio of the class do you think will be complete beginners? It actually sounds really funny. An escort 'workshop'! I am sure it will either be pretty informative or a complete trash bag. I want to go. Is there a website?

It sounds to me like a scam.  Who says they're even going to actualy run this thing and not just take your money?   What could they possibly teach you that you couldn't learn on your own?  And with the legal issues there are with this profession in the USA, I cannot see the wisdom in gathering with dozens of other people and admitting you have sex for money.  If such a thing were to be held in the UK, I'd also think this was just another pay to work agency by another name.  As far as the law goes in the UK, I'd wonder if such seminars would break laws on incitement to prostitution.

What Hermione said, plus it reminds me of those 'guide books' for escorting. They do contain lots of common sense tips which might save you a bit of time later if  you read them all before starting out in this work, but if you happen to have some common sense already in your head and you've already started working, you will probably already have figured this stuff out.

The sheer number of different ways of earning money from sex pretty much makes it so that we all have our own ways of working and none of us work identically to anyone else. I'm not paying to go to a seminar where I'll be told A) to do what I'm already doing or B) to start charging a million extras (?20 per removed sock :P) or whatever else doesn't suit me at all. Also, I keep such a beady eye on SAAFE that I pick up useful tips and learn from other escorts every day. And I wouldn't pay someone to teach me something without them being qualified to prove they do know their stuff. Otherwise I'd get scammed every day by those stupid 'click here 2 learn secrets about [web design/weightloss/making money at home & earn ?$?$?!!11!' adverts. ;D ...Anyway, I doubt this person who wants to make money 'teaching escorting' (?) is qualified in How To Do The Best Sex Bsc(Hons) or is a millionaire, either. Why can't he share his tips for free like we all do, in an open discussion? Now I'm going to start grumping about people who want to make money off escorts because they think we're dumb, so I'd better stuff a foot in my mouth and be off.

I totally agree...

In fact, if I were to start escorting all over again...I wouldn't listen to all the 'advice' thats been thrown to me over the years. The difference between the advice here at SAAFE and the advice that others in the industry give (although probably with good intentions) is that most of the information here is factual, and it repeatedly says, "its our business, and we can do as we choose."

People have suggested to me to 'work with clients on my rate', charge extras like McDonalds does when adding cheese, and just a plethora of things that I've found to be somewhat true...but not an actual way of doing things.

I can imagine a class would probably brainwash people into doing things 'my way', and everyone doesnt operate the same. Even for an intermediate escort liek myself, such 'rules and regulations' can really screw up your head.

After seeing that girl ask an extra $200 to get down into her bra and panties, and then coached me about charging for every extra service....I was really scarred after that. I felt like a cheap ass ho. I wanted to quit. Then I found out she was an agency girl, and then she lied to me about setting up an appointment with a guy who said he wanted her to bring a guy...who was supposed to me  :P
