+1!!! I'm quite an honest, straight-forward person, and I don't think before I speak.
So when they ask me personal questions before I know it I've told them the truth, but they only know half the bloody story,
and probably end up judging me!
I don't ask them personal questions, what gives them the right to ask us?
Even if they don't mean to "pry", everybody knows the difference between "making conversation" and being outright nosey
and infringing on someones privacy!

The full answer to how I ended up over here is that I married a UK citizen. But that really opens a can of worms. They then want to know if I am still married and what does my husband think. That is just so fucking nosy! I never ask if they are married! (Very occasionally, kids may come up in a relaxed, friendly chat if it comes up somehow indirectly, but rarely.)

Can you imagine how they'd feel if I asked, "I guess you're not getting it at home? Does your wife know you punt? How do you think she'd feel about it?"
