I tried the waxing thing. Ended up with lots of ingrown hairs which were much more unsightly than the shaving rash. I also found that some of the people that did it would rip the skin off, and that was never pleasant. Plus for me it only lasted about 3 weeks before I needed it done again, and it was just too much bother.

I think it's mostly trial and error!

I used to shave but have been waxing every month for 2 years, and now I'm working go every 3 weeks. I don't find I get stubble the same as when I shaved, as the hair grows back much softer and sparser, when you shave you cut the end of the hair rather than pulling it all out.

The first time you get a wax when you're used to shaving will hurt, because when you shave it causes the hair to grow in different directions, the second time is much more pleasant as long as you don't shave inbetween! Take painkillers anyway.  :)

It is expensive where I go but they use hot wax without strips which is so much gentler on the skin than using cotton strips. I was worried clients might be a bit turned off by any regrowth but no-one has ever said anything, well not to my face anyway.  ;D

does anybody else here 'pluck?' i used to shave but that was quite irritable, then i got waxed but that hurt, plus the cost getting it done professionally, then a friend told me how she plucks her pubic hair with tweezers and the only downside i've found so far is that it can take a little longer (not too much longer) so a couple of weeks ago, i plucked and so far its been great.

I had a friend tell me she plucked too, so I gave it a try.  Never again.  Within days I was covered in a rash and then when they started to grow back I had more ingrown hairs than when I waxed.  So far that was my worst experience of hair removal.

Although I'm interested in how Improbablecats is getting on with her laser hair removal course.

I've always had difficulties getting the razon to shave the hair closely to the skin in certain hmm... crevices. Am I the only one? Are there any workarounds it?

Yes! I shave in the shower with cold water. Makes all the hair follicles stand up for a nice and close shave.

True, I also find shaving in the shower with cold water best, after burning myself with shaving cream and reacting to waxing and ending up with a swollen red pussy and couldn't work for days.

It is waxing for me. Due to traveling, I make sure I find a salon that uses he Lycon waxing system. Hot wax, where they rub an oil on the skin before, so the wax only sticks to the hair not the skin, reducing the skin irritation.
Just had my muff defluffed, it is the best feeling in the world.  ;D

I used to shave but this year I've started going to amazonia for a California (waxing everything off except for a triangle on top). They do women's waxes too,  have branches all over London and do a great job. I'd definitely recommend it over shaving.

I prefer waxing... shaving makes me feel very uncomfortable because it causes itches especially between the legs and in the bikini area
