Sad time in my life
« on: 27 December 2009, 10:25:05 pm »
Hi guys,

I had to disappear a bit suddenly, I got a call on mon 14th morning that my mum was found dead in her house and had to go up to Scotland straight away. I had no internet connection up there and didn't have the inclination to find an internet cafe. The funeral was on Christmas eve and I came straight back - I have ignored Christmas 2009 completely and hope this way I can enjoy future Christmases again.

There will always be a huge empty space in my life now, but life has to go on, so here I am back and ready to carry on best as I can. At least I don't have to worry that mum will find out my career and be disappointed in me, though I would prefer that.

Cherish your loved ones and tell them you love them today, you never know what might happen tomorrow.

XX

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the ground in the morning, Satan shudders and says: "Oh shit, she's awake!"

Hi Cassie,  so sorry to read about your sad news - it must have been an awful shock for you.  I lost my mum a few years ago and, as you say, there will always be an empty space.  There's nothing quite like the love that your mum has for you even though most of us probably take it for granted.  As you so rightly say, cherish your loved ones and tell them you love them.  I'm sure you will have lots of happy memories of your mum which will help you over the coming months. xx

:'(  my deepest sympathies go out to you. Just the mere thought of losing your mom is hard to bear.

There is no one who can take the place of your mom...but at the same time just look back at all the good things y'all shared. Your post certainly has made me appreciate my mom more...and being that Im moving 4 hours away tomorrow, even that separation makes me feel a bit sad.

Console in your other relatives/family as much as possible during now. They need you so much right now...

So sorry Cassie. You're in my thoughts. I found a quote for this difficult time:

"Unable are the loved to die.  For love is immortality"  ~Emily Dickinson

With Much Love, Alex x

Thank you for your kind words, they do help.

Apart from an Aunt on my mother's side and an Uncle on my Father's side, both of whom I haven't seen since my Dad's funeral 9 years ago I am alone now, thankfully I am finding out that i have a few good friends and people who stand by me when the going gets tough. I still feel like a ship that has lost it's anchor just now...

Love the quote.

Just wanted to add my condolences. My father suffered a major stroke on the 27th Dec last year. I have been dreading this first anniversary. My best wishes to you.

Death is Nothing at all ~ Henry Scott Holland 1847 -1918

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room,
I am I and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other, That we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used,
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we shared together.
Let my name ever be the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant,
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

Cassie I'm so sorry, I've only just read your post and it must have been a terrible shock to receive such awful news so suddenly. I also offer my condolences - please look after yourself and take things slowly for a while. May she rest in peace xxx.
