I have a question, are gifts from clients supposed to be declared for tax reasons?

Ok you'll say "Well who's going to know?". Well the places on the internet that you boast about it?

I could be wrong on the declaration/tax` bit.........but my advice is check it out before bragging.

A client showed me to his dead wife's wardrobe and insisted I take a few items of her clothing, to be polite I chose a vile fancy cardigan and a disgusting handbag from the 70's, they stunk of mothballs and it wouldn't have even been fair to take them round the charity shop so I sealed them in a carrier bag and binned them hoping he never asks to see me wearing the said items.

I've also been given an anal douche off a client and I don't even do anal  :FF

Definitely the cash. But whether or not you do... ;) But bear in mind that big gifts (cars, diamond jewellery etc) would be verrrrrry interesting to a tax man should they ever decide to audit you, likewise if a client dropped a few thousand on you and you decided to buy a car or pay off your mortgage etc, the tax man would want to know where that money came from.

Your best bet is to phone HMRC and ask a theoretical question: "IF I were to receive a cash gift from a customer...." etc.

And yes, definitely check before you brag  :D

("you" being a collective "you", not you as a person, Mirror ;D )

I don't brag anywhere about presents cash or otherwise, hmrc will tax breathing soon so no way they're getting tax on my gifts! Think there is a loophole for cash gifts? X

I got some bolt cutters from a reg after I lost the key to his chastity device once, the usual, wine, perfume, chocs  a lovely handmade wooden jewellery box, ankle chains, fetish equipment, some martina cole books. Very kind some clients as I don't advertise for presents, in fact it embarrasses me a bit x

I used to get quite a few small presents from clients: flowers, perfume, chocolates, lingerie and sex toys off my wish list - that was when I used to offer OWO. These days I never seem to get presents except booze that I don't really want and tips which I most definitely want.

I wish they would stop bringing me chocolates.  I really do not eat them and end up taking them to a friend/giving them away.

On the odd occasion I have received perfume it has always been a cheap grotty one from a market stall that I just would not buy.

Some nice gifts.  Did they know what to buy you because you told them, or had they guessed your interests from previous meetings?

A lot of my whips, canes and strap ons have been given to me by clients, not necessarily as gifts but things they've brought for the booking and not been able to take home...I've got some fab size 9 and size 11 stiletto's that have come in handy loads of times  ;D

I got some drop earrings as a gift from someone who I have seen four times, 30 minutes at a time this morning.

OK, they are not that expensive, 14 Carat gold but they are cute.

So question is what have you been given as a gift by your clients?
