No shows/no confirmations
« on: 06 March 2025, 09:06:38 am »
I knew not to expect a lot of bookings since officially starting my availability last Sunday, but what I didn’t plan for was the sheer number of time wasters. Out of 5 ‘bookings’, only 1 has actually gone ahead, with the rest either ignoring messages or not turning up. I’ve also had loads of guys who obviously just want a free chat.

I’m learning who would be likely to be a TW, and I’ve added onto my profile that guys with no feedback require a 25% deposit to secure the booking. I’ve also said that everyone needs to book through the aw booking system - that way I can leave feedback on persistent tw. I know deposits aren’t very popular, but I feel that this is the only way I can gain back something from all the emotional labour involved in chatting to these men.

is there anything else I can be doing to get actual bookings?

Are you checking on Clienteye for reports of wasting multiple girls’ time?

How long are you chatting to them for too, I feel they have to book within 3 to 5 messages that’s all is needed. I might give some leeway occasionally for an additional flirty message once or twice but I never spend much time writing these replies, like less than a minute or so each text

Another thing I’ve done that’s cut out bullshitters is just never see clients who say “this is my first time doing this blah blah blah” . I say great but once you’ve seen someone else first come back and see me as I don’t see first timers . Actually I do meet first timers , just the ones who don’t make a big song and dance about it… it’s such TW behaviour to me

Easiest way for fewer TWs is once you get to a point you’re mainly seeing people you already seen before, regulars do sometimes let you down but it’s much less often. Takes time to get to that stage I realise that

Can we keep promotion of this app tontheir advertising thread please? It's not going to help the OP develop her instincts or her screening skills (as many posts on that thread have demonstrated).

I think you're putting far more faith in the AW booking system than it deserves - if punters get bad feedback they just dump the account and start another one? Unfortunately you're going to attract more than usual because you're new and we all went through it :)

If you can make deposits work for you then by all means do (there's a lengthy thread about them whuch I'm sure you've seen), but a robust confirmation process is what really weeds them out, in my experience. If you're going to take bookings in advance then have a solid cut off time on the day, otherwise I'd say an hour before. Clear, specific and non waffly texts too, as MyValentine said above.

You can also do what I used to do and get them to call back; I only take bookings by text now but I used to stop them and ask them to call me back in a couple of minutes if I wasn't sure about them - the genuine ones will and the rest move on to somebody else :)

Thank you for both of your advice

@Amy that makes sense regarding the dumping of the profile. I definitely feel my instincts need to be improved. I’m going to take on board your suggestions about taking a phone call.

As both of you said - short conversations and getting the confirmation an hour before sounds a lot better as well.

Ooph it’s all a learning curve  :D

My advise for a new person is much like Amys.

Don't engage in chit chat before they have paid you.

Serious people who will show up simply book, that's it.
They don't flirt and want endless chat and messages.
They don't want to know about your inside leg measurement or the colour of your nail varnish.

If they want you to wear something specific - then you can dress up when they get there in the time they have paid for.
If I speak to people on the phone I do not put on a sexy flirty voice I am all business. - it is a business and they should know they are a customer booking time with a professional working person.

Anything else is just free sexy wank talk (or texts) for them. They aren't going to turn up.

IF they book and then start asking questions AFTER making a booking then they probably aren't going to turn up.

I have been taking bookings with deposit for new clients for a long time. There is a minority that try to book without a deposit, but the vast majority pay the deposit without a problem. Those who refuse to pay the deposit I ignore.

But, I have to say that I have been working for almost a decade, with a profile of more than 100 feedbacks on an AW account that is almost 10 years old, seeing this, clients know that I am legitimate. If you are a woman with little time in the industry, they will most likely be reluctant and will hardly pay a deposit. (my deposit is between 20-30 pounds)
I'm just another mosquito on this windshield that we call '' life ''

I would also add to avoid-

- Overly dramatic texts 'Your so beautiful! Wow you're just my type!" Ect ect

- Guys who use loads of emojis "Hi 🥰🥰 Are you available 💗👍🏼💗 Your pics are amazing 🍑🥰🍑"

- Guys saying it's their "birthday"

- Guys who only give monosyllabic answers

- Guys who call you babe, darling, honey or any other word like that are usually timewasters

- Asking if you work alone- massive red flag

Unfortunately dealing with timewasters is just part of the job. Also trust your gut- always. If something seems off don't book them in better safe than sorry

Another thing to add, always get phone numbers. Once they’ve been blocked they will just email or try to book through adultwork.
For example today I had an email from a Simon. He said he’d love to see me today and can he book? I said sure! But please text me for bookings, here’s my number xxx. Then he emails saying great I’ve just sent it. I didn’t get a text which means I’ve already blocked him. He then follows up with ‘did you get my text? I’ve just had a nice bonus and would love to spend it on you’
All bullshit.
Always get a number even if they have positive feedback on aw. There was a guy with 100s positive feedback but when I checked his number he had like 20 reports. Client eye is good but still trust your own instinct, which, doing this job you’ll rely on heavily!

My screening system (maybe a little overzealous, but...):

1) On AW: no feedback, no booking unless they give me their phone number (which I check on CE)
2) don't take phone calls. Text or WhatsApp only so you can check their phone number on aforementioned app first.
3) honestly just use your intuition, it's never wrong. Don't be tempted to waive the rules just because it's quiet. Stick to your guns and do your due diligence.

100%. Timewasters will email you to try to avoid screening- ALWAYS get their number before booking them in. I would also say always get a deposit for an out all too

100% true. I no longer answer their emails. NONE of the men who message me on AW ever book. They usually have multiple timewaster reports.

I take bookings by phone call only. That’s how I screen. I will answer texts but they must call to book me.

All clients must confirm their booking by text at a time I designate. The majority do so with no problems. The ones that don’t, get a cancellation text and then I can fill their appointment with someone else.

I am very strict.

Another tip is not to book in a 12pm ‘cock blocker.’ I tell them it has to be 11am or 1pm or it cuts off your morning. (Assuming you have nothing already booked in).

TW - some of which have been mentioned already:

‘Babe, honey, gorgeous’
‘It’s my birthday/got a promotion’
‘I’m in the office so can’t call right now’
‘I’m on a train at the moment’
I’m (insert age) will you see me?’
Outfit requests when you don’t advertise them
Asking if it’s a hotel or apartment. (They always want an apartment, so if I’m in a hotel I ignore them).

For the ones that are in the office, tell them to call you when they are out of the office (some will) but the majority are timewasters.

It’s just as well they invented hair dye because this job will turn your hair grey in no time 😂

They are usually timewasters.

Don’t get me wrong, I get plenty compliments, but IN the booking, when they say they loved my pics etc.  Loads of emojis usually equals timewaster; however there’s always the exception to the rule. One emoji is okay but if a text is full of them, I just bin it.

Not everyone will have the same experience. I have a friend who uses them in her comms all the time.

We’ve just got to decide what our ‘timewaster’ triggers are.

I just run a very tight ship so I only get no shows once in a blue moon, because if a client is determined to waste your time, they will, right up to saying they are on their road or outside your door.

If I got a text like that I'd think the sender was extremely a) immature and b) thick, and while that's no barrier to punting as we know, those aren't people I want in my flat. I'm not their mate, and I expect polite, specific enquiries.

Not having perfect written English is one thing, but stupid hieroglyphics in lieu of words is just twattery. I may also assume they're an iphone user which isn't a good sign in my experience, but that's more personal preference.

Red flags for TWs for me are

Messages that start 'hi babe' or just 'hi'
Ping pong texting.  I don't do this any more.
Failure to provide information on how long they want for the booking and what they want included.  A genuine booking will write a coherent message, stating a name, length of booking, time of day etc.
People who don't want to pay deposits, I know there's exceptions with married men but most of the time people have been happy to pay me a deposit.
People asking to meet me at such and such hotel- this isn't always a red flag cos I've had quite a few nice encounters but I've also been caught out!

There's probably loads more but those are the ones I've experienced.
