He rang and sounded like he was ordering a pizza. Abrupt, no pleasantries. I screened him the same as other unknown callers. He revealed he'd visited once two years ago, but only when I squeezed it out of him. Had he been open I wouldn't need to screen the shyt out of him. His approach was like a dry potato so I told him we were not compatible.
He put on his regency wig and velvet breeches, sharpened his quill pen and texted me this:-
I’m sorry you found me unfriendly on the phone.
First of all I will say that I’m an extremely friendly and polite person and in fact that’s probably my best quality. I’ve met you several times and we’ve always been cool.
I was in a public place hence why I was trying to keep my voice down and might have come across as nervous. Also I will say you need some work on your telephone manner, That’s not a criticism or me having a go at you. Just that you are very odd on the phone: most people just say sure what time would you like to come over etc.
Yours feels more like an interrogation from the word go and you always make me feel like I’m asking for something I shouldn’t. And you come over as someone who’s uncomfortable with people having your number and calling you.
So again I’m sorry I came across that way. In honesty yes, I’m having a bad day so that may have been reflected in my tone, which wasn’t the intention.
