Having woken up at stupid o'clock today, I turned my phone on, forget about it, so when it rang at 7.15 I ignored it.  I then received this charming voicemail:

How about you put the fucking effort in, get your fucking fanny out you cunt

Now normally I'm able to ignore slighty shitty messages but this one took the biscuit, and sometimes these guys need to learn to take responsibility for their actions.  It was his bad luck that all week I'd been woken at 5am by a bloody moterbike revving up, so to I was in a tetchy mood anyway.

I ring up (obviously he's not thinking someone will have the gall to do this)

Fuckwit: hello
Me: What do you think you are doing ringing leaving a message like that, its really rude
Fuckwit: mumble..mumble
Me: You do that again and I'm calling the police
Fuckwit: I'm sorry I was only having a laugh (you could try sounding sincere matey boy)
Me: Its not remotely funny, like I said I won't hesitate to call the police, whats more I'm going to warn all my escort friends about you.

****hangs up****

What is wrong with these people?  I could hear voices in the background.  Presumably he'd been trying to big it up in front of his mates after a night on the lash.

I then switched my phone off....turned it back on around 9......another voicemail only minutes after that original call asking me to call them (different voice), I don't think that was a coincidence.  Hopefully they have all been shitting themselves thinking that I might have actually called the police (not that I would in this instance, more of a deterrant), serves them right!

Phone call just now from a young guy -

Him - ''Are you available today?''

Me - ''Yes I am''

Him - ''What are your prices?''

Me - (I tell him)

Him - ''Can I eat your pussy (Does a burp down the phone)''

Me - ''Erm, come to think of it I doubt I'll be around today but thanks for calling!''  Ewww!
         

Reacting to the abusive messages gets you nowhere in my experience, apart from even angrier!

I agree on the whole; but there is a limit to what I, personally will accept.  I think if you respond in a dignified manner it stops them in their tracks and makes them see that actions have consequences. Also hopefully what I did today saved other girls getting the foul mouthed message that I did, so that makes it worth it for me

Yeah I had to eventually do that. I always get calls on a Friday nite which I don't mind cause I just ignore them but I had 2 numbers which wouldn't stop flooding my phone with texts and calls. One of them wasn't texting but he kept phoning constantly.

What is wrong with some of them? The other number that kept harassing me was someone I already had blocked for other reasons then when I woke up this morning I had more calls from different numbers, each and every one of them were from people I already had blocked.

    

PP I have a person voicemail saying "Hello sorry I can't get to the phone right now, please leave me a message with a convenient time to get back to you as that is the best ways for me to contact you back. Please also be aware that I don't answer any withheld numbers or calls after 10pm at night, thank you bye"

Seems to work

My voicemail advises that I don't take calls after/before certain hours of the day but doesn't stop folk leaving messages at 1am telling me there's 3 horny guys in a hotel wanting a good seeing to right now, "call me back".

I don't use voicemail at all - I have a recorded greeting which requests punters either text or email, and it specifically asks that they don't leave a voice message. I get the odd one (which just gets deleted without ever being heard) but on the whole, it works .
