Energy boost!
« on: 24 April 2015, 08:45:19 am »
I had to take an antihistamine last night as something brought me out in a rash.  Can anyone recommend anything that I can take right now please, energy drinks make me feel ill.   And at this moment in time I could quite easily go and crawl back into bed.

Black coffee and pro plus tablets might give you a boost for a while x  :)

I don't get on with caffeine, really, either.

I think your only hope is to get outside and get some air, sunlight, and exercise.

A lot of caffeine makes me jittery any queasy too, so I'd avoid it. Definitely the fresh air and sunshine to clear your head a bit, and I find Berocca helpful too if I'm flagging a bit - I had a mad busy day yesterday and it saw me through :).

It won't help if you've got punters booked in, but could you take the day off? I know that groggy antihistamine feeling and it's horrible.

Get outside, get moving and it will pass. Avoid chocolate, bread and junk food. Eat plain and simple and drink plenty of water.

I've never tried Beroca... it really works? Maybe I'll pick some up!

I didn't sleep well last night - had a late booking so went to bed after 1, and then woke up just after 2 with tummy troubles. Dragging my arse today.

Oh dear, I know that feeling too and it's difficult to get rid off.  Personally I think a quick nap will sort the problem.  Your body is telling you something.  I think prioritising a quick sleep and not fighting what your body is telling you will be best if you want to last the day.  Plus, you've had so much stress lately, I think it's taken it's toll.  Any chance you can take a day off hun to recharge your batteries and take care of you?

I agree with resting if you can. Even a cat nap.

I'd say power-nap too, and then a shower. And maybe a bit of fresh air..
Caffeine will give you a boost, but it'll just give you a crash at some point after it, I would avoid it!!

I wish I could amy unfortunately I do have advance bookings for today and tomorrow but am only going to stick to the two booked in.

I can not drink coffee, take pro plus or energy drinks as they give me heart palputations.

I went for an hours walk with the dog and am going to get some Berroca tonight.

I am going to have a 30 minute nap after my next appointment and a nice cool shower hopefully that will wake me up.

Thanks ladies, does anybody know of anything herbal i.e holland and barrat type herbal lol that I can take for days like these?

Just spoke to another WG I know who has been diagnosed with Scarlet Fever !!! :o

She went to doctors as had a rash and felt a 'bit rough'

Doctor said there's a lot of Scarlet Fever about at the mo, so might be worth you going to docs

If you've got a health food shop near you, they stock some boost drinks with natural remedies like guarana which can give you a boost.  Can possibly be found in some supermarkets near the energy bars/body building products.

Also the Naked drinks have been known to work for some ........... most places stock them as well as Innocent drinks/smoothies which contain some natural energy boosting remedies

Good luck but I do know the feeling and it's awful.  The downside of a good antihistamine!
